Ahh, gotcha. That is also fairly simple.

I take it back. I have tried multiple different ways I have used in the past to get it to work and it is kicking my ass at every turn. The way the game handles these stats is very unique and hard to decipher.

I do believe that everything is being kept.

It seems that the remaster cut half of the content from the original. I went to the end and never saw the quest with a trip to the salon with Kate, more piquant scenes with Alexandra and her "help" disappeared, now there is no quest with Iris and much more.

Its not cut. Its part of a different level. At least thats my understanding. Take a look at the patreon and it shows the progress. I would imagine the aforementioned rendezvous with Kate is part of level 2.

For some reason the file has a .txt extension. It must be .rpy

Did you copy/paste the savegame directory?
The legacy savegames are not compatible with the rebuild. It's a new game.

Aww, the scene with Eva in the mall leads to a deadend. I play with her a bit and eventually she runs away leaving me with a black screen that says closed, which i assume means the mall? anyways, there is no button to get out there and the playtime in the mall toilet created all new autosaves so its basically a gameover.

No, it isn't. Real extension are hidden in your explorer.
Your file is named amnesia_gallery_unlocker.rpy.txt. Rename it and you'll see the full name.

Save your game, apply this then reload

You just have to rename the file. And "my" file was a rpy in the first place. You just have to right-click it and choose "Save the link as"
