I think you can access the room at friday day time when Kate is cleaning Elena's room.
There should be a hint.
Otherwise just camp in front of her door and try, skip time, try ...

Top right there is a diary with all the quests and a magnifying glass button to enable hints. The diary entries should tell you when and where events continue or if you reached end-of-current-content. That should help a lot ...
