AMNESIA. PROGRESS REPORT v0.103. WEEK #4-6
Hello friends!
We have finished work on the upcoming version v0.103.
The update will be released tomorrow. Below you will find answers to some of your questions about the game:
I purchased the game on STEAM. If I download an update from another shop will it update the steam version?
The Steam version of the game is a separate build and differs in some minor aspects.
Optimize resources, reduce distribution size
The game takes up a large amount of space because it contains a lot of content — around 10,000 FHD images and about 800 animations. And that’s without counting the secondary materials (icons, texts, scripts, sprites, etc.). The only way to reduce the size would be to lower the quality. We’ve tried different methods of reducing the distribution size back in the pre-remaster version, and all of them led to a NOTICEABLE drop in the quality of both images and animations. Even if the difference was small, it was still visible. I’m not ready to sacrifice the quality we’ve been working on so long and hard just for the sake of a smaller file size. With modern internet speeds, I believe this shouldn’t really be a problem at all. That said, I admit that this question comes up from time to time. We are exploring the option of updating the game through patches, but this also brings certain challenges in terms of code design and game build production. With this approach, there’s less room for error, since fixing something through patches is much more complicated. So, for now, this question remains open.
It would be nice to have +18 voice acting.
Some scenes are already voiced, if you mean moans, sighs (the voices of female characters), and certain interaction sounds. But I agree there could definitely be more of them. However, this is a painstaking process that takes time. At the moment, this work is handled by our lead writer, which means he doesn’t always have the time to search for, edit, and implement “deep” sound effects and voice samples.
All activities with Alexandra disappeared after I improved my relationship with her.
Yes, that’s correct. The storyline with Alexandra, right after raising your relationship with her, leads down a path that temporarily limits her FreeRoam interactions. Without spoilers, I can’t explain the exact reason, but this was done intentionally: at the moment we are focusing on developing the storylines of Kate and Elena, while Alexandra remains in a sort of “frozen” state. The stories of all three girls are closely intertwined, so we cannot move Alexandra’s plot further just yet without breaking the overall narrative consistency.
