I actually tried that first, then used the one here, but the same error keeps popping up. Maybe something's wrong with the exe file for windows 8.1?

Sorry, I didn't see your answer earlier. If the issue still isn't solved, I'd suggest you to go and contact the team on itch.io and tell them about the issue. I've only played the game on Windows 10 so yeah...
Alternatively, you could wait for the end of the month - chapter 5 comes out on february 27th. Maybe the next update will fix your issue on it's own.

This is a good game, the characters are well written and the story is pretty compelling right now. I would definitely recommend going to the itch.io page and giving the devs a few bucks, if you can.

Not even the right year in the changelog lol. Not blaming the uploader who works with what it's available but a detailed changelog it's a must have.
I like the scene where the MC tells everyone who the MC really is! And the reaction of the others to this is interesting!
I heard there were nude sprites on patreon.

It's really cool to see a game like this get as much love as it's getting. I wish more games like this were being developed.

Oooh, this looks really really fun. I love the concept, I love the art, I love that it has lesbian and gay routs, I'm defniitely trying this out. Ah, also, thanks a lot for having a Linux version.
