Bro sees tag mind control, sees ethical conundrum presented in summary about choices, sees it's a game about the exact idea of ethics behind using that, then proceeds to cry "mind control is rape!!1@!!!1!!". On the top right of the thread, you can find the ignore button. Press it. I don't enjoy gay or ntr stuff, but I don't go into their threads kink shaming and take moral grand standings. Let people enjoy things, and MIND your own business.
They're responding to a multi-post discussion about the nature of the fetish, not making an unprovoked complaint about its existence. I brought up the subject of consensual mind control, someone else said "I don't get it", and then that person said "Yeah I thought it's just rape". It's fair discourse that hasn't devolved into anything hostile yet, except for your post.
I'll be honest. I've never once thought of mind control as a "fetish" that leads to consensual anything, and I can't really think of anyone who has ever said so.
Mind Control as a "fetish" has always been about imposing your will onto someone no matter what that other persons wishes were. Forcing someone to do something they originally didn't want to do.
How would consensual mind control even work? Its just...sex at that point between two consenting people.
See, that's what I'm talking about. If you can't even wrap your head around why someone would do it, you're missing out on the full potential even in non-consensual scenarios, and could learn to execute it better by exploring the part you don't understand. Think about all the other sorts of BDSM stuff that people enjoy exploring consensually. You wouldn't say, "It makes no sense to tie someone up and spank them if you aren't trying to keep them from escaping." There's clearly something people enjoy about it, something about the way it makes them *feel*.
Here are a few examples of how and why someone might enjoy being the "victim" of mind control:
1. Maybe there's something about her own thoughts that she wants to change. Maybe she just wants to quit smoking, or enjoy exercise, or make broccoli (or cum) taste like ice cream. Maybe she's despressed and wants a cheat code to *force* herself to be happy. Maybe she's asexual and wants to be able to enjoy sex - or maybe she's straight, but her best friend is gay and in love with her, and she wishes she was able to return her feelings.
2. Maybe she just wants to treat it like a sex toy or game. If she enjoys being bound, she might enjoy completely losing control of her body, forced to move according to her Master's wishes even though there are no ropes or chains on her physical body. And post-hypnotic suggestions can be used as a more powerful version of the classic "hidden remote control vibrator". All her controller needs to do is snap his fingers to make her orgasm on the spot, or make her feel like an invisible lover is eating her out. Or, for a less extreme version, maybe any time she's feeling lonely she can just tap her own forehead and suddenly feel his arms embracing her.
3. Maybe she just loves the feeling of giving up control, of putting her trust in someone else to not only tell her how to act, but to direct how she thinks and feels as well. Someone who enjoys slave play could experience the pleasure of absolute obedience and bask in the power that her Master has over her. Maybe someone who works in a stressful position as a manager or director can return home and let all their stress and worries melt away as they slip into the mindset of being Master's obedient maid.
4. Maybe there's just something about the way it *feels* that she can't describe. The blissed-out feeling of her thoughts fading away, the satisfaction of obeying a command that completely dominates her thoughts. Maybe it just makes her wet to know that her very thoughts and feelings are changing, and she doesn't understand why, but she know she wants more of it.
5. Maybe she hates herself and/or wants to become someone else. Maybe she sees a sexy, evil character in fiction and thinks, "I wish I could be like her. I wish some dark force would corrupt me and turn me into a dark, sexy version of myself instead of the boring and depressed nobody that I am. With superpowers!" Whether it's a complete rebirth as a new person, or just an alter-ego that they slip into from time to time, with mind control it can become something/someone real instead of just playing pretend.
And all of these things above still have potential to be used in non-consensual situations. A hypnotist could offer to fix something she wants to fix, but then slowly corrupt her in other ways, even as she begins to trust him with more and more of her mind. An unwilling victim could be made to feel like she's being pleasured in public even when nobody's touching her. Her own thoughts could become a trap as the protagonist implants the idea that being brainwashed is sexy, and even though she knows those thoughts aren't her own, it triggers a feedback loop over how hot it is to be brainshwashed into thinking it's hot to be brainwashed. Or maybe it doesn't even need to be implanted - maybe she discovers a genuine mind control fetish as a result of experiencing being a victim of mind control.
All of this is the kind of stuff that makes up the appeal of mind control - a fetish that's about the mind, not just the control. It's way more than just "I put my penis in your vagina and you can't stop me".
