Depends on your preference - do you like exploring or just clicking to advance the story? I understand there are some collectibles in ch2 sandbox mode. I haven't played it yet though, waiting for the full chapter. Probably going with sandbox.

So if we are very lucky maybe the $25/$15 tier patreons will get it in-between Christmas and New Year if they work on it but if he (and his helper) are celebrating with the family X-mas and in-between X-Mas and New Year so maybe some time in January next year

Hey guys i am new to this thread, can someone tell me the difference between VN and sandbox? Which is preferable to play with?

Depends on what you prefer. Sandbox you have a map with events and you move there by clicking on the map to the place you want to visit. VN - you automatically go there without entering the map, kind of like fast travel in games.

In sandbox you get free roam, you get to move from one plae to another. Basically you need to at the right time and place to trigger events, which sometimes becomes difficult because some games tends to forget to give those infos. And you get repeated activities in sandbox mod. There is also the day night time stuff.
VN on the other hand is linear, you just need to select the choices you prefer. The time place stuff is done the game and your past choices, you get to enjoy the action. If you are into story its better to go for VN and itss less time consuming and helps you to enjoy the story.
There are some games which amalgamates VN and little bit of sandbox into a beautiful experience but those are just handful. Both can have their individual merits. VNs tend to have a better story usually. Sandbox games almost always have greater replayability. VNs with enough meaningful branches to make replaying it fun are rare. Most of them you play once or twice and then you're done forever. Sandbox games frequently have little to no story and an excessive amount of grind.
Many sandboxes are only there to hide the fact that the game lacks content. They are often grindy as hell, without any pointers what to do next and so on and thats bad because most people come here to..well jerk off. I'm not a fan of most sandboxes either because if i want to grind i'll play a normal game where its enjoyable to grind, which it isn't in porn games when i have to grind for hours to get a handjob scene or something like that as reward.
Playing VN's is reading a story and having some, more or less, nice visuals on top of that and is way more practical for the people who come here just to fap or enjoy something without searching around or grinding.
