If you check patreon, which I do regularly, you'll see they made a post on Feb 25th for the beta version, on Feb 28 they made another post for the $15 dollar tier non-beta version, and two days after that on March 1, a further post to say the VN version had now been released. If they'd posted both on the same day, they would both have the same release dates, which they don't. The VN version is not always released the same day as the non-beta sandbox version. I know this perfectly well, because I invariably have to wait for it, despite being on the $15 tier. I'm one of those unfortunates who can't play the sandbox version, because I'm affected by a Windows 11 bug that is incompatible with the game. So I always have to wait for the VN version.

It's possible we're talking at cross purposes here, when I said the non-beta was released two days earlier I was referring to Ep 15 and not Ep 14. The last update of the VN version wasn't posted on this site until December 25, eighteen days after it was released on Patreon. And that's why I suggested you could be in for a long wait.

Barring unforeseen circumstances from the developer, we should have the final version around October of this year

0.995: chapter 14 (December)
0.996: chapter 15 (February)
0.997: chapter 16 (April)
0.998: chapter 17 (June)
0.999: chapter 18 (August)
1.0: chapter 19 (October)

It would be nice if more runs could be done in the final version to have different endings

The Devs have not said anything about the game ending this year, and you can't draw any conclusion from it approaching v1.0, because the first part of the game finished at v2.0. Everything suggests this game has years to go yet

In the last few updates, they've introduced new characters and storylines. You don't introduce new characters or storylines if you're planning to finish anytime soon.

Can someone explain sandbox vs. VN? I mean, I get it, but is sandbox mode particularly annoying or difficult, and is VN mode developer-made, or is it a mod of some kind? Thanks!

Not for this one. Usually quite a few sandboxes are extremely annoying and repetitive. This one has very little sandbox part so u can play either version. VN is just even lesser hassle

Like death touch already said, not much difference,
In VN you are taken to the next story point and in the programmed order .
In "Sandbox" you have to travel there using the Map , and for example change in the office, the story is the same, and the order of the events doesn't alter the story.

There's no way the game is ending in 4 more updates, there's too much left to cover. There's gonna be a chapter 3.

I hope chapter 3 improves the sandbox, or makes it a full VN. There's nothing to do except click and roam, the money we earn doesn't make a difference. Maybe the renders will continue to improve too and Anna will look even hotter

It was a ludicrous notion. The Devs would have told us months ago, if they were planning this, and they've said nothing to suggest this at all. In fact at the end of last year, Deep said there were still a lot of stories to tell, which hardly sounds like he's winding down towards the end. In the last few updates, they've introduced new characters, and new storylines, as well as suggesting others ( like the search for Alfred's daughter). Everything points, towards several more years of development to come, plus as you suggest a third volume of the game.

Deep has said Anna will have other stuff to spend her money on eventually. The most likely is a car, since she's talked about this a few times. She's also talked about going on vacation, which might be interesting, since they could also introduce new characters who would only feature during her holiday

That's good to hear, it makes the sandbox elements matter I guess.

I only hope that Deep doesn't "soft reboot" or slightly retcon Anna in chapter 3. Like what happed in ch2, Anna was such an easy slut by the end of ch1, she fucked anyone with little reason and was highly corrupted, then at the beginning of ch2 she felt more prude than before and we had to corrupt her again.

I just hope Anna is more consistent in ch3, that she starts off as a massive corrupted slut after everything that happened in the previous chapters, instead of dialling it back.
