Exactly all the way through chapter 1, there was conflict, tension and blackmail which made it interesting. If Deep listened to the people saying she was too reluctant then that a shame, as that's what made it interesting seeing how she would get herself out of the situation.
After chapter 1 it was like alight switch went off and it was time to go full slut, no tension, no reluctance, no real blackmail. Boring in other words. They tried to bring it back a little with the "Ohh she had to help Andrew because she needed to pay his medical bill. I'm betting almost none of the people whop played through chapter 1 could give a rats ass about Andrew.
To each there own as it's the devs story to tell the way he wants to tell it. I may not like the direction he has taken our MC but I still check in on occasion to see where the story is currently. If that's the direction the Dev wants to go and the Patreons like this direction, then it is what it is. I don't support the Dev anymore because I don't find the story interesting as is stands currently, but as a non supporter my thoughts on this title count for very little.
It wasn't really a case of him listening and changing his mind. He has to strike a balance, between what different patrons want. And other peoples opinions are just as valid as yours. You may not agree with them, but that's just the way of the world. And he'd be a very poor Dev if he totally ignored a sizeable portion of the people who support this game.
As far as Andrew is concerned, his role originally in the game, was to be the guy that Anna cheated on. Deep deliberately made him an unsympathetic character, so people wouldn't feel bad about Anna cheating on him. Eventually he was going to be discarded whatever route you ended up. But Deep wanted to keep him in the game as long as possible, but the shooting was not part of the plan back then.
A lot of patrons didn't like Andrew at all, because Deep made him too unlikeable. And there was a groundswell of opinion amongst a large number of patrons for him to have an early exit. But Deep told patrons that that was not option. He'll bend a certain amount, but some things are just off the table and set in stone. And Andrew's continued participation in this game, even if most patrons loathe him, isn't up for discussion. So instead he held a poll, where either the game would continue in the same vein or Andrew would have an accident and end up in a coma. And the majority voted for him to end up in a coma, on the understanding that he'd be out of the game for several weeks ( gametime).
Anna paying the medical bill was really all about her having to do questionable things to earn the money in a short space of time. It was the pretext for Anna's accelerated corruption, because she felt she had no choice but to do these things, to save Andrew from becoming permanently crippled. Now Patrons may not like Andrew, but Anna doesn't feel the same way. She may have stopped loving him, but she doesn't hate him and had a lot of sympathy for his predicament, and she felt very strongly that she still owed him, because he'd been around to support her in her home town, these last few years, when she's had so many issues with her drunk of a father. And also there's a certain amount of guilt for cheating on him with all these guys, and doing that was assuaging that guilt, so if necessary she can eventually move on with a clear conscience.
For me, with this storyline they were starting the route to what will probably be the 'bad' ending, where she surrenders to her condition and falls to the bottom of the rabbit hole and ends up as a prostitute or something very close to that. Everything that has happened to Anna in the game so far has been a consequence of something else, whether it's been her condition, being blackmailed or desperately needing money for one thing or another. So her becoming a slut has not been a conscious choice most of the time, it's been due to circumstances outside her control. So she's still able to come back from this, all she needs to do is take the cure, and her exaggerated libido will drop. And presumedly she'll be more in control and no longer a slave to her desires. But if she doesn't take the cure, then she's consciously choosing to be a slut, and after that there's no going back and she ends up as a slave to her lust.
And there have been so many instances in recent updates, where she's been literally prostituting herself. And I don't think she's fully consciously aware yet what she could be becoming. How long before she's working in the Black Cat Brothel for real or whoring herself out in the Park with Brianna? I think she's some way from that yet. I think something pretty dramatic will have to happen for Anna to fall that low. And my guess is, it will have something to do with drugs? I mean after all she is going to be running a drug gang, so I'm guessing at some point she'll be offered the temptation to start sampling the goods? And maybe her doing weed, with the young college guys, is the beginning of such a scenario?
She may be on the rise at the moment, but I think eventually there'll be an option for her to fall as well.
