There was never any virus in the actual game. It was infected with a downloader, which starts operating a few days after launch. So when you click on the app, it downloads the virus into your download of the game. Downloaders typically only work for a limited period of time or a certain number of actual downloads. In this instance it was between July 30 and August 1. So if you launched the app on one of those dates you'll be infected, but if you did it before or after you wont be. So after August 1 it ceased to be an issue, because after that the downloader stopped working.

Any idea why CH1 does not launch with Sandboxie? Just a white screen, I've blocked internet access for all my Sandboxie application so just wondering. CH2 launches without issue though.

Because Chapter 1 doesn’t have a sandbox version?! It’s only available in the official RPGM release and the unofficial Ren’Py port.(First page, Chapter 1, others*, Ren‘Py Remake.)
Ahh I was worried my config for the Sandboxie was broked, thanks for the info

Hello, dear Patrons!
A quick update on the next release.
I wanted to release the next Episode this weekend, but there are still a couple of animations and renders we have to finish. The last scene is almost done, but a bit more time is needed, so it will be out sometime next week.
Anyway, Anna will be amazing again, and I used one of the older wallpapers for the scene. I think that Anna looks amazing, and she will get whatever she wants and something that she doesn't

i also like the teaser of the scene looks promising and some gala/ball setting looks refreshing and interesting! hopefully its a longer scene on the level of certain bar events.i just really think the haircut doesn't fit here. her long open hair would have fitted WAY better in this classy/elegant setting. i wonder why Deep sticks so intensively to the short modern haircut the past couple updates most of the time.
EDIT: i see a solid number of guys who seem to agree with me. i would like to ask if one of you guys could ask Deep on discord or patreon to make this little change. Please.
(i don't have discord anymore and patreon... well my bit of money is too rare to support even devs i liked and like, like Deep, to support cause the changes and content are way too rarely to my liking.)

There is a miscommunication here. Ed Hardy_32 is talking about the sandbox version of the game, which has absolutly nothing to do with why CH1 won't launch in a sandboxie sandbox. I unfortunatelly can't help you with your problem, because my sandboxie has internet allowed as I had the same problem, but I'm not sure with which game and was to lazy to figure it out and just allowed internet instead. Should you ever figure out a solution for this problem I would be interested in it, but it's also a moot point for me now since I have F95-checker running in the same sandbox and it needs the internet connection anyway.
I wish you the best luck figureing it out.
