The problem about the early part of Chapter 1, is that it was done over 8 years ago, and since then the game has evolved. I don't think it was ever Deep's original intention for 'Anna' to have as much lesbian content as we have now. That kind of just became a factor, when the Devs realised there were quite a few patrons who actually wanted that to happen, and actually wanted to play the game with Anna being purely lesbian (or as much as possible anyway), and that's why content like that has been subsequently added to the short novels, to provide a context for Anna eventually deciding to be interested in women only.
Perhaps when the game is eventually finished, the Devs will go back and change the early parts of Chapter 1, so it's more in step with how the game has evolved over time?

For some reason the VN hasn't been released yet. Perhaps they're working on another bug-fix, and they're delaying it till that's finished? I can't imagine why they wouldn't release it otherwise?
The VN will definitely be released. It's very likely they've delayed it, till they sort out some bugged content? Releasing it before it's playable, would not make you feel any better.

The VN version has now been released. Deep says they were fixing an animation, and adding an additional one. And that was why the release of the VN was slightly delayed.

Chapter 1 has an unofficial Renpy remake, made by Osmcuser132. The official version by Deepsleep is in RPGM only. One of the main reasons for splitting the game into chapters, was because Deep decided to switch from RPGM to Renpy.

It might change now with Chapter 1 releasing first on Steam with changes. It would be nice if they merge it to Ren'Py for Steam release, but I am not holding my breathe

So far, none of the promotional images on Steam show the game from the classic RPGM view (small sprites reminiscent of 16-bit games).

Did you check Patreon? If so, that would have given you your answer, there were animation issues, and it got released a few hours ago to the $10 tier.
Yeah, as I suspected it was an additional bug-fix, that was holding up the release of the VN. There was little point adding it, until that fix was completed.
So I might have missed what is the connection here but I see epizode 18 chapter 2. In the download section is only season 1 i imagine with all epizodes. Is chapter 19 including all other epizodes? I downloaded episode 18 for pc and seems familiar. This game is has happened very convoluted.

Just to clarify things a bit: Season 1 and Season 2 are two separate downloads (basically two different games).
- Season 1 is available in both the official RPGM version and an unofficial VN version — both are in the download section.
- Season 2 continues the story, and Chapter 19 is the latest update — it’s a direct continuation of Chapter 18, not a separate bundle or compilation.
- Chapter 19 of Season 2 is currently only available in the sandbox version here.
- The VN version of Chapter 19 has been released, but only on Patreon for now, so no public link has been shared yet.
