I kind of agree that the game died by user feedback. When you try to please everybody, especially the loudest squeaky wheels, the product suffers and the developer is bound to lose whatever passion drove the project in the first place. The characters need to be flawed for the story to be interesting. That's why I support VNs like Friends in Need despite its jerkass protagonist and insipid stable of needy girls. Over in that game, the players were whining about Nikki so the dev gave them a joke mod to remove her which abruptly ended the game because without her there was no game. That's how you handle the peanut gallery if you ask me. If the audience is whining, sniveling, and caterwauling over a fucking glass of water and these are the individuals the dev is trying to mollify instead of moving on and trying to see where the story goes next it is a sign that the project is a sinking ship.
