Hasn't happened to me yet (knock on wood). You do get to keep it if you manually react to the correct role.

Respectfully, the parts about no progress being made are simply untrue. I'm am not one to give devs the benefit of the doubt, but these devs have literally made progress every update. I can name two or three major features introduced since I've began following (pirating) the project. Yes, the updates aren't groundshaking or ballooning the amount of content, but I think that's better than the game dying from scope creep. As for the bugs, the game is technically not fully released yet and frankly the game-breaking bugs get fixed pretty quickly. I won't speak to the other parts of what you said since they're matters of opinion.

I don't know if its something wrong with my pc but this game fully downloads but just doesn't finish.. It sits in my downloads at 100 but doesn't let me open or play it- Anybody know a reason or is this just some little bug with the download process on my pc?

Now, every time i click on it to download, it tells me the connection is insecure. is there a new link or somtehin?

When the file stops downloading (but is still stuck at 100%), just pause the download, rename the file to something ending in ".7z" or whatever the original archive format is, and then cancel the download. The file should remain, ready to be unpacked.

So to elaborate a bit more. The "game" is just a glorified shallow model loader with very little features and mechanics. 90% of the game is just, load pre-done animations where you don't even participate. It's so horrible. It's just not a game. Hardly a sandbox either.

FarmD actually IS immersive and has features. First, you can have MULTIPLE partners with AI. They can even have an Active AI where they suggest actions and even do stuff on you! Like initiate making out with you and stuff. You can command them to go to places and do actions, or get them to come over by doing something yourself. It's really fun and immersive.
(Example: If you go on all fours, your Partner can come over and mount you. No teleporting. Can be done ANYWHERE in the world!)


Compare this to Anthro Heat where, the characters legit cannot fucking move. They can't even WALK. It's embarrassing. It really is. We're still stuck in characters stuck posing in specific locations and being unable to interact with the Player. Bottoming, is a nightmare in Anthro Heat. They're just soulless mannequins...

For progression, I was a bit unclear. FarmD so far seems to aim in that direction and has save files and such. I thought (correct me if wrong) Anthro Heat was meant to be a "Romance Simulator".
You can't really have a "Romance Simulator" without... AI? Relationships?
Wouldn't it be cool if you actually had an option to customise the AI of your partner? To develop a relationship with them where they'd learn what you're into and what you're not, actually build a bond with them? Obvious have a sandbox/cheat mode to avoid this, but I'd love for this to be a feature. Just to add in that immersion and progression where it feels like my actions actually have an effect on the world. You know, the basics of any video game? Lot of porn games I've played HAVE progression... even Sandboxy ones like Koikatsu Party I remember having a Story Mode thing.

I feel like early on they talked about the game being more of a romance simulator or at least implied they wanted to go in that direction. some of the official art they've posted kind of implies it too. but it feels like they've kinda walked things back and only talk about it being a sandbox game anymore, like they've reduced the scope of their plans because what they wanted to do originally was too difficult or they simply had a change of focus, something

only games that were comparable when heat came out, at least in terms of games you can find here on f95, were inti-mate and farmD. things like wildlife and GoAT are also kind of adjacent in terms of content. imo Heat and farmD are the two best furry porn games I'm aware of and both fall a little short of what I personally would like to see, but I can't complain much as I've got no stake in the game(s) financially. tbh most all of em have kind of fallen into the same trap of pumping content to keep backers happy while the game tends to otherwise stay largely the same, bug fixes and new content but no real evolution of the base feature set. SoftScale (farmD dev) is less guilty of this than most, actually keeps his trello roadmap public and up to date.

a fixed base feature set isnt necessarily a bad thing, but people are always gonna find stuff to piss and moan about when the games tick some but not all of the boxes for features they want. unfortunately for most of us we can't make our own game (with hookers and blackjack or w/e lol) so most we can do is either throw money at the devs and hope they listen, or start learning to code/model etc. and I've got way too many other hobbies and projects so as the saying goes "ain't nobody got time for that" lol.

it's unfortunate that VaM and wildlife are prob the two best general VR porn games in terms of depth of features and functionality, because they're honestly more of a game-ified animation/posing tool with extra steps than an actual sit down and play kind of game. I've made the joke before That VaM is about as fun as sitting down and trying to jerk off to an excel spreadsheet or the blender UI because that's about how obtuse and opaque the user experience is if you're doing anything but loading pre-made scenes. it's like a model kit or Legos, fun if you like putting stuff together, but if your goal is a toy that's ready to play with out of the box you prob best keep looking.

heat and farmD are both far more accessible, but both fall short in a few places esp compared to the feature list of VaM and wildlife. mash em together with the best parts of both farmD and Heat and I think it'd tick most of my personal boxes for what I want out of a game like that, ymmv lol. unfortunately porn games are a fairly small niche, and furry porn games an even smaller niche within that one. as a result the pool of talented developers is unfortunately limited, in spite of furries basically running the tech industry lol
