There's always felt like there were two games here tonally to me. There's an incest/harem/loli romp that is pretty standard stuff, and then there's the deadly serious romantic story Nea story. This should be two different games really. I don't see the MC entering into a romantic relationship with Nea while also trying to fuck every other girl. Given what we know now, that also would seem to lead to bad things for Nea when she found out the MC basically poked anything that moved and that maybe she wasn't seen as anything special by him. I can't see Nea wanting to share given her feelings for the MC.
Agreed, make Nea the the love interest in a new game that focuses entirely on the aspects that are already covered in Nea's route in A69. I certainly won't play it because of the inevitable bad end material we already see in A69, but Nea deserves much more focus than being a love interest in a harem game can allow.
I also agree on Nea's potential views on the harem thing, this is exactly why I fear that even going into romance with Nea could still lead to a suicide later, because Nea may not want to share and Nea has already shown what happens when things don't work out romantically already.
I don't think we should demand Luxee change the game, but I do think it's fair to criticize them for the game being deceptive about what the non-romantic route for Nea would entail. "Dialog option strongly implies X, but instead we get Y," is a valid criticism of any game and something I can apply to high-profile AAA games as well, like Mass Effect or the infamous "X to doubt" thing.
Absolutely, this was not what we were told and he deserves to know we don't like that.
Developers should always make a game they feel comfortable with, or better yet, entusiast about. But if they want to make money they also have to match their project with the likes of those they wants to convince to support them financially. Per his patreon page this developer's doing reasonably well.
I think the game is very good, and I quite like Nea's story. But I don't like the unexpected turn of events in the last update and her (in my game) abrupt ending. In any case I will continue playing.
On the other hand, although it would be nice if there was a route where you could develop the MC's friendship with Nea, I don't think that will happen unless many of those who support the game financially ask for it. So I guess these two options will be the only ones we will have.
Exactly, you can't convince someone to support you with deceptions like this, supporters tend to be much more wary of stuff like that and they will move away the second they feel they are being deceived.
Probably because they haven't released an update for a while, cos they've been working on Parental Love instead
It should be tagged "on hold" since it will be continued after PL
Exactly, the on hold tag exists for this kind of circumstance.
I've played this game to the last update and chosen to avoid Nea, yet I didn't see anything strange nor offputting during my playtime, did I miss something? What's the fuss all about?
Nea commits suicide if you don't pursue Nea romantically, giving a feeling that we are being guilt tripped into romancing Nea.
But that would have to be requested by Luxee - and from his point of view I'm sure A69 isn't on hold - at least not more than any other game where a dev alternates between different game updates.
True, I forgot about that condition and, given the backlash here, I doubt Luxee would bother.
WTH Mods?!?!
You must be registered to see the links
The progress tracker on HIS WEBSITE which is listed in OP as a source for Luxee:
DATED APRIL 28th!!!
His website is not a source applicable to the tag from what I have read, it has to be on the pay sites (Patreon/SubscribeStar) as far as I can tell.
It should be onhold not abandoned as it's onhold till they finish the PL update.
He has to come here and request the on hold tag, it isn't automatic.
So force players who are here to fap into seeing content they are not fapping to just because the emotional blackmail that comes from choosing no to the trans character? solution is easy - just have a toggle from offset for Trans/Gay content and if its off then you never meet Nea in game. That or devs stop over saturating games with such a focus on trans stuff - the dev made his fortune from family fun kink (and even more taboo smol variant at that) in past endeavour and heavily emphasises all that here too... why would he expect his target audience to have a vastly different target is beyond me. Like other comments have said - its like he's tried to amalgamate two very different games into one just so he can appease his build up fan base of backers with a harem loving family including a sex obsessed little sister and cuckqueen mom at the same time as have this very different tonal romance and bullied storyline with a trans character who likely most of them passed over. Clearly its not working as hes done a full 180 to return to his past project and this games reception has been no where as positive as that was (likely because of aforementioned weird style clash within the game).
Not here to fap, I rarely game and fap, I use videos for that. That said, yes, he is basically forcing the players to view content regardless of whether they want that content or not. It doesn't even matter that it is Nea specifically, it would be just as bad with any other character in the game. I don't get it, either, Parental Love was largely incest and loli focused, it wasn't until the masseuse got added that trans content became a thing and even then it was fine because the masseuse doesn't commit suicide. Even when Nea was first introduced, Nea was fine, then came the point where we got to choose whether or not to romance Nea and Nea commits suicide if we don't. Then there are the content dependencies, A LOT of other stories are completely dependent on Nea, you HAVE to go through Nea's story to advance other characters.
I agree, there are two VERY different storylines going on here and they don't seem compatible with each other. The difference in tone is extremely jarring to say the least. They should be separated into two different games.
I've been on the romance path with Nea since day 1.
It could also be that the non romance path was making them feel the same way they did when they were doing to the wife only route for PL and decided they didn't want to go through that again or they just got tired of all of the bitching and said fuck it.
There already is one in the game. At the start of the game you can pick if you want trans content = You'll see Nea's content - you don't want trans content = No content with Nea you'll still have to trigger their events but they'll be ignored and not play and just jump to the new event - Just be friends = be friends with Nea without any sexual content.
That's exactly it, though you got the last part wrong and that is the part that raises issues with Nea's story. Just be friends = Nea dies by jumping off a roof. That's the problem we have, what you said is what we were told we were getting, but what we got is what I said. Instead of friendship, we got death.
So wait help me understand this,Why is Luxee working on Parental Love again instead of working on this game I mean isn't that game completed.
He's adding more to certain underused characters.
I don't know why all this confusion. Everyone knows that the developer is working on the first game, and that it will only be continued after the one ends.
As for the tag, it's the site's rules, but it's not a definitive thing.
For me, I hope he can improve PL, although for me, what's wrong with that game would be the animations, if he can improve that part, for me, it's already great.
I think the sudden change from on hold to abandoned is the cause of confusion, most people aren't aware of exactly how these two tags work, like the reliance on very specific lines of developer communication or the need for the developer to request the on hold tag, for example.
What?! Abandoned?? Noooo
(
I don't understand why, I liked it very much.
The tag is misplaced. This isn't abandoned, it's on-hold while he works on the steam release of PL.
But to be fair, he has taken way too long on that steam PL release.
Site rules indicate that a lack of developer communication for more than three months makes a thread eligible for the abandoned tag, furthermore, it must be somewhere the F95 mods/staff are looking or it will not count toward keeping whatever the game had before the abandoned tag. The on hold tag must be requested by the developer, so a lack of request means it cannot be applied again even if the game is not technically abandoned.
If I'm not mistaken, even Parental Love got the abandoned tag slapped at some point in the past and, as we can see, Parental Love was never really abandoned.
It did, scared the hell out of me thinking something happened to Luxee.
It really isn't though. Nea friendship route would be way easier to make than Nea suicide route. Friendship route would be exactly the same as romance route just with the sex scenes cut out. No new renders and a few alternative lines of dialogue. Without her though, every scene that she would have appeared in alongside any of the other girls will need an alternative making without her in it.
Exactly, all it takes is a block in the code, granted he would have to do this for every Nea H scene going forward, and some alternate dialogue. A Large part of the code could just be copied or altered as is to include these exceptions.
Unless... ghost Nea? She stays in the scene, but MC is the only one who can see her?
The problem there is it requires her death, which is the original problem for some people in the first place, including myself.
I clicked No for trans/futa. I always do due to utter lack of interest, hoping to play time something personally stimulating. At some point, it seemed like every other character only progressed via Nea.
If all the frames spent on Nea were divided among the family members, this story would have gotten to a point where I would have been tempted to support it.
That is exactly what happened, though not necessarily exclusively through Nea, but a significant amount of prerequisites for other characters were Nea based.
imo. This should be 'On hold', developer isn't inactive, he clearly stated he stops working on this game for now and will resume once another thing is done (which gets constant progress updates).
There has apparently been a lack of communication on his pay sites, which is where F95 looks when applying the abandoned tag. On hold has to be requested by the developer and I doubt Luxee wants to come anywhere near this thread with all the backlash at the Nea suicide.
