Steam seems to be where the money is, but it obviously necessitates a lot of changes to game, and with PL that would be more than most. I think PL is the more Steam-friendly game between that and A69 though. The visual novel style of Parental Love will probably do well there, even if a lot of content and kinks are removed.

The dev has to make the game that expresses what he wants to convey (a story, entertainment, whatever he wants). In any case, listening to suggestions of what they are willing to pay you is something that I suppose all developers do: If the followers like something especially or they have not liked something in particular, it is always good to know it and thus be able to consider if it's worth to modifying it, maintaining it or directly replacing it with something else. It isn't that those who pay have decision-making power, but if they are willing to pay, hopefully they will also be willing to give ideas and contribute to making the game better.
For the rest, I will not be the one to complain that Nea has been the center of the game: If I hadn't liked it, I would have left the game a long time ago. But it's also true that I'm not particularly happy with the two choices we have in the last update. In any case, it's what it's, and it isn't that complaining changes things. The best thing is to continue enjoying the other characters that the game has and hope that it continues to be as good as it has been so far.

imo. This should be 'On hold', developer isn't inactive, he clearly stated he stops working on this game for now and will resume once another thing is done (which gets constant progress updates).
Agreed, make Nea the the love interest in a new game that focuses entirely on the aspects that are already covered in Nea's route in A69. I certainly won't play it because of the inevitable bad end material we already see in A69, but Nea deserves much more focus than being a love interest in a harem game can allow.
I also agree on Nea's potential views on the harem thing, this is exactly why I fear that even going into romance with Nea could still lead to a suicide later, because Nea may not want to share and Nea has already shown what happens when things don't work out romantically already.

Exactly, you can't convince someone to support you with deceptions like this, supporters tend to be much more wary of stuff like that and they will move away the second they feel they are being deceived.

His website is not a source applicable to the tag from what I have read, it has to be on the pay sites (Patreon/SubscribeStar) as far as I can tell.
He has to come here and request the on hold tag, it isn't automatic.
Not here to fap, I rarely game and fap, I use videos for that. That said, yes, he is basically forcing the players to view content regardless of whether they want that content or not. It doesn't even matter that it is Nea specifically, it would be just as bad with any other character in the game. I don't get it, either, Parental Love was largely incest and loli focused, it wasn't until the masseuse got added that trans content became a thing and even then it was fine because the masseuse doesn't commit suicide. Even when Nea was first introduced, Nea was fine, then came the point where we got to choose whether or not to romance Nea and Nea commits suicide if we don't. Then there are the content dependencies, A LOT of other stories are completely dependent on Nea, you HAVE to go through Nea's story to advance other characters.
I agree, there are two VERY different storylines going on here and they don't seem compatible with each other. The difference in tone is extremely jarring to say the least. They should be separated into two different games.
That's exactly it, though you got the last part wrong and that is the part that raises issues with Nea's story. Just be friends = Nea dies by jumping off a roof. That's the problem we have, what you said is what we were told we were getting, but what we got is what I said. Instead of friendship, we got death.
He's adding more to certain underused characters.
I think the sudden change from on hold to abandoned is the cause of confusion, most people aren't aware of exactly how these two tags work, like the reliance on very specific lines of developer communication or the need for the developer to request the on hold tag, for example.

Site rules indicate that a lack of developer communication for more than three months makes a thread eligible for the abandoned tag, furthermore, it must be somewhere the F95 mods/staff are looking or it will not count toward keeping whatever the game had before the abandoned tag. The on hold tag must be requested by the developer, so a lack of request means it cannot be applied again even if the game is not technically abandoned.

Exactly, all it takes is a block in the code, granted he would have to do this for every Nea H scene going forward, and some alternate dialogue. A Large part of the code could just be copied or altered as is to include these exceptions.
The problem there is it requires her death, which is the original problem for some people in the first place, including myself.
That is exactly what happened, though not necessarily exclusively through Nea, but a significant amount of prerequisites for other characters were Nea based.
There has apparently been a lack of communication on his pay sites, which is where F95 looks when applying the abandoned tag. On hold has to be requested by the developer and I doubt Luxee wants to come anywhere near this thread with all the backlash at the Nea suicide.

Damn So Nea dies if I don't romance her huh. I mean what the fuck, I may not like Nea as a romance option but dosen't mean I want Nea to commit suicide. While I like a good story to kill off characters to add the emotional effect but not if its suicide. Example would be like Acting Lessons, I was completley ok with how that went, but this, nah man suicide can kiss my ass.

I think the best thing to do would probably be to retcon the suicide as things simply getting awkward and Nea trying to avoid the MC. That way she can appear in group conversations and such without having one-on-one scenes.
It was only marked abandoned because Luxee has not said anything where F95 looks, however, Luxee has been communicating and this game is far from abandoned.
I couldn't agree more, Nea has been through too much trauma for me to consider romance at this time, but that does not mean I want Nea to die in any way. A character dying to something can be a very good plot point further down the line when there is good reason to include such a scene and when the character has built up enough development and attachment with the player that it causes an emotional impact, but there was no good reason for Nea's suicide and Nea has not been around long enough for such a connection to the player, it just feels like shots being fired at the people who told Nea no.
I agree, I could see things getting awkward, that makes sense when you have someone who wanted a more romantic relationship and who is constantly around the person who told them no.
Or just retcon the part before things start getting awkward when it's Nea and the MC's underwear, because that was kind of crossing a line in the friendship, just as if a female friend who has expressed zero romantic interest in you left and came back to find you jerking off in her panties. Ask the player the romance question before that scene, and have the same scene happen later as a sign of the growing sexual tension between the two instead of at a time where the player hasn't had a chance to state their intentions.
But also obviously retcon the suicide in either case. The deciding factor for Nea killing herself shouldn't be the MC not wanting to romance them. Although I think if you retcon the masturbation scene that should make things play out differently anyway.
And maybe at the end of the friendship route in the game, ask the romance question one more time. Maybe at that point players have changed their mind about Nea. Maybe recycle sex scenes from the love route then, before older Nea joins the MC in the restaurant or wherever as they finish their story about how he met his girl.
I think the Nea situation is handled perfectly and I wish more games would incorporate similar outcomes with characters that the player might have no interest in.
the irony is, for a game that wants to treat lgbtq+ content seriously, making the trans character mentaly unstable to the point of commiting suicide because you didnt fuck them is sending it backwards by decades.
i mean, even a parody wouldnt get shit this wrong. let alone the emotional manipulation. this is just idiotic, no matter how you slice it.
i will say this, there's nothing that is more of a turn off to me, than stuff getting overly serious. and this here is prime reason why, i know alot of people love their porn to have good story, but to me, i rather have a cookie cutter same ol same ol crap, than when people try to reinvent shakespear, only to deliver a wigglestick instead.

Exactly, it's really quite simple. I did something similar for a game on here that used excessive amounts of differing numbers of breaks between most transitions.
It took me like googling for 15 minutes and trying some stuff from the official renpy documentation, then I just added a variable of how to handle breaks in general (keep as is/remove/always 1), as well as a small function that got a number parameter for break amount. Then every time breaks were called, it was just calling my function instead, which handled in like ten lines of code of how many breaks to add, based on that variable and the given parameter.
So changing this in existing code was a bit of copy/replace, but for new code it would only be replacing one Renpy call with another.
The situation there was admittedly a little bit easier than here, but the same still applies.
It may break up the code a little, by giving each Nea-H-scene/altered dialogue a separate label/whatever, adding an If/else-block into the main code instead, but nothing that should be a problem for someone working with Renpy for as long as Luxee has been doing.
One more reason why I don't understand Luxee here.
I knew going into A69 that Nea was his starting point for the game. I'm not into Nea romantically, but I wanted to see Luxee's next game, and after meeting Nea, I wanted to read her story. As far as I remember, the possibility of Neas' romance being optional, floated around for as long as we waited for the game, and I was so happy when it seemed that option was finally officially confirmed.
Just for being removed an update or two later for no apparent reason after already adding in the 'ignore' route.
I just went with the romance option for now (even before reading the alternative would have meant her death), but that's still temporary. I can ignore things I don't like to some extent, I mean, no game here is a complete nit-picky 100%-fit for me personally.
I don't think I would continue playing A69 in case I chose not to continue Neas' route, I'd be back for Luxee's next game though.
We'll see how A69 will fare in the future.
