Or perhaps the dev is telling the story that they want to tell and everyone who played their last game is pissed because it's not literally identical to the last one. As if there would be any point to just remaking the same game all over again.

You can't blame people who expect that previous work is an indicator of future work.
This is how references on a job resumé work. This is also how the portfolio of a photographer works.

But anyway, the game has been losing focus and the extremely slow development cycle is not very benefecial to multiple love interests so if Luxee wants this game purely about Nea, fine by me, but then he should be clear about that.

This VN has some other ladies of various types as well - fairly wide range, not the widest but good.

Nea resonates with the Dev in a way that makes her integral and you can choose not to lewd her, but every VN has story elements that happen outside of the lewd events and regardless of who you have picked or rejected. If Nea's mere existence melts your snowflake, you should move along.

You already have skip options for her content, don't bitch when you see less activity per update when you were told the situation 100's of times ahead of time.

TLDR - Nea is here to stay, you have choices to move on

b) I only speak for myself, but when a game is tagged with "harem" and starts with a bunch of LIs but then suddenly ignores all LIs except one, then I am probably going to be at least annoyed because the dev has misrepresented what the game is going to be.

And I say 'annoyed' because it is fair for a dev to follow their story where it takes them, and sometimes that means a game will change as it progresses. So a complete change in the game style is a bummer but expected to happen from time to time. However, when it really starts to look like this was done intentionally (i.e., planned in advance) - and that a game was deceptively marketed as a harem game just to draw in more players but with the full intent of eventually turning away from that entire plot just to shove the dev's personal fetish in the most faces possible, now (to me) you have crossed a line that a dev should never cross.

I don't care a lick if one of the LIs is non-binary; it's not my thing but neither is my masculnity threatened by it (like a lot of the screamers who have attacked the dev for including such a character). But I definitely don't like being lied to to sucker me into getting invested in a game that is intended only to rub one kink in everyone's faces. Do I think the abuse the dev has received made him take this path? Absolutely. But his choice to change this game from one thing to another is a good example of cutting off one's nose to spite one's face - in trying to piss off the fragile masculinity crowd dev has destroyed all credibility in his current and future games. It's a shame because I was enjoying this game.

I'm on Linux and using Lain's mod, if that helps.

Playing the base game without the mod or lewd patch still gives me the error, attempting to run this mf through wine now.

Still nothing, unless someone has a list of all Nea scene locations (or a fix, of course) this game is a skip for me.

man the game is in its infancy and like all sandbox games (and part why i hate them is that) it's empty. The game was on hiatus for a year at least. The stories are interconnected (again point against sandbox style) so they follow a pattern that only the dev knows. It's definitely a harem game. But do to the Sandbox style the updates focus mostly on one character. If someone would have asked me i didn't had Heather update on my bingo card anytime soon but that's what we get next.

I have played this, everything thus far.
Not for Nea - she is just a nice person, so I let her be in the group.
I play for Eve and Millie. They are involved throughout.

As someone else alluded to, sandbox is not ideal because you have to format paths to go with a lot of variance with other paths. This gates some progress with certain girls until you have seen step (Whatever) of perhaps Nea or Eve. Luxee should just make the story and let you pick who is in the lewd party and who is not. But they wanted to do this, this way. So output will have some story here and some there and not always every girl. That doesn't mean it is not a harem. I have already had activity with more than one lady at once and I am on the path of every other girl still.

So, after over 6 years, we still haven't gotten much further with anyone really, let alone with Eve and Millie, which would be the main interests of those of us who played his previous game.

Say thanks to Nea. She took ALL, FUCKING AAAAALL attention to herself. Thanks to her and all the BS that surrounds her, game almost got buried comfortably 6 feet under the ground. So much shit was thrown around because of her. FFS, she's not even worth all of that, she's BORING! Like, she's so fucking BORING. Beyond cute face and petite figure, she has almost absolutely NOTHING interesting going for her.
I still remeber how my first and later impressions of her were, -"She's cute. It's him? Huuuuuh~ 'It's a trap!' Hmmm~ Okay, whatever. MC has a trap in his harem. Cool. Tho, she's kinda boring... And her personality and her story is kinda miss for me. Okay, I want to go back to the others. I want to develop previously established relationships first! ...wtf do you mean that's all?! i would not be so quick to jump to that conclusion. think the dev did an update last year too, and the one before it (a year before that one) was when Nea killed herself i think.
