I had this question what is the difference between the normal game and the incest patch version in any games not just this one. How much am I really missing without the patch?

No, 'normally' the ipatch is either universal, which this one isn't because it says it's for a specific version (not this one), or the patch has to be updated each version. Almost anyone can see that a 0.7 version wouldn't work with a 0.8 release...
It really varies from game to game, if the relationships are defined separately from the script then a universal ipatch usually works by just changing those names, but if it is just typed lines within the script then the script sometimes needs to be changed, manually replacing each individual instance of the relationships. Which is the case in this game, hence why the patch needs to be updated every time, as the script itself gets changed each update.
It depends on the game, but because of Patreon guidelines incest is forbidden, creators usually use "landlady, roomate" etc instead of mother. brother, sister etc to avoid getting their Patreon taken down. There are some games that have separate content patches w/ the ipatch, but not in this game. It just takes away the landlady/roomate stuff and makes them a family instead which is how it feels like it should be.

They changed the code. In 7 it was setup so you redefine some of the dialog. In 8, they removed that.
Sample:
In 7 we had
mc norm cur "Have a good night [upd69]"where game had
define upd69 = "Evelyn."and the patch had
define upd69 = "mom."So if the patch didn't have this defined it would just use the game's. Meaning if 8 would have stayed with the format, the patch would have worded until it ran out of definitions.
But this is the same line in 8
mc norm cur "Have a good night Evelyn."
So no definitions to replace anymore.
TLDR: Game code changed, Ipatch will need to be redone from scratch.

I dont mean the update...I mean the whole gameJust finished the update! It wasn't as long.. but I wasn't disappointed
So to answer your question? YES!
just a small question: can you adjust the screen shake and camera bob in certain scenes? it's kinda distracting.

seems like saves don't work between 7 and 8. would've been nice to know that. i think ill just discard this one from my checker.
The old saves don't work, but all the old scenes are available once you start from the v0.08 content. If you want all of the scenes unlocked, then create a save right at the very end of the new content so you can load it and view them without having to re-do it. I don't know how the points (LP) you earn are going to be used in the future, but they are of no use at the moment.
