except overwatch.. its pretty shit honestly. let's be honest.

and on the "great content".. yeah, its good quality. he made good animation and angle. ( he dont make models, soo we cant give him a point based on the models quality)

would like more of others things honestly, instead of sucking overwatch to the bones. even if he is a "pro" specialized on overwatch.

The skin on many of those screenshots looks like wax. Did someone go crazy on the subsurface scattering?

You sure about that? I thought model was created by 3d artists, drop in sfm, then animated and photoshoped to have those effects?

no, thats not how it work lol

model is ripped of the game, then put on blender for be modified ( sometime just added DAZ model parts as ass, tits etc..) and UV mapped on blender. the mapping use the ingame textures as base. thats why they look similar to the original one when they appear naked and obviously arent in teh original game.
the rigging is also made on blender.
then its put as a model on SFM where they animate them. sometime they photoshop some parts to avoid bad rendering.
but the model is like this once you got it, as its blender quality, it allow heavy resolution and details.

you cant photoshop an animation ( or it will be super pain in ass ). sfm add a bit of details via the lighting and all ( because sfm is made specifically for animation and movie soo it have nice setting for best rendering animated scene)

honestly, everybody who know how to use sfm can do that quality. you just pick up the model already made of this quality and put it in sfm and put animation. they are no need AT ALL to touch photoshop or anything as the result will be excellent. it only depend of how good you are in SFM, if you are good, you can do crazy stuff. its mostly about animation and lights. nothing else.

Thank you for your answer :)

I imagine when they use Zbrush or Maya, it's to modify the models in that case, am i right?

maya just a replacement for blender ( same as 3DSmax) , some prefer maya, some blender or 3Dsmax
as for zbrush, few use it but only on model creation, not on rendering. both are 3D modeling tool. zbrush is specialized on adding details on surfaces. (sculpting)

ps : of course i didnt counted the work to port, like with GCFscape, VTFedit and crowbar , berry etc...

that depend of the person.
but for ripping a model out of the game, the most popular tool is ninjaripper ( or name like this, i forget exactly). but based on the engine you can also use other tool that allow to open UE package and else.
i m not pro at this soo i cant explain exactly how that work. i only know how ninja ripper work. you start the game, you start ninja ripper. and when ingame you see a char or something you want, you run ninja ripper and it will rip everything from the scene ( chars, props, lands etc.. inclued textures) , after that you need to find the model and textures in the bunch of things exactred and rebuild the UV to the model. sometime the rig is also ripped. again, depend of the engine used.
