Been years since I played. Why can't I pick this option? The walkthrough mod literally highlights it but I can't select it lmao.
You can only if you work on the prototype, but you will have prepared for the interview as the guide advises that before ( you could cheat the variable with urm ).

Ohhh okay that makes sense, thank you! It's weird that the mod advises you something that ends up locking an option out later that it then advises you to pick :rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

Probably without the mod that option appears greyed out, but the mod makes it green hehe, with URM probably appear choice detected 2 paths/choices and 1 hidden hehe but this game unlike many others grey's them out and you can't click them (when the condition isn't met) instead of remove it from the choices.

It's been a while since I played it, but I remember that the better outcome overall was still to prepare for the interview, since that way you impress the entire team, and I think the prototype only granted individual points for Reina or something like that. Anyway, even though the mod previously recommends preparing for the interview, IF for some reason you decide to work on the prototype, then that one would be the best choice during the call, which is why it's highlighted in green. Like pitao said, usually dialogue choices that are unavailable are hidden, but there are cases like in Artemis where choices still appear, only that they're greyed out and locked. As they've mentioned, you can use URM and temporarily set that variable to true (or leave it like that permanently if it doesn't overlap with any other one); you can also add the affection points manually by using the same tool and keep going.

Thanks for the detailed info - I have no idea what URM is unfortunately (probably should) or how to do that but it seems like too much effort for what doesn't seem to be that "meaningful" of a choice. Was just curious about why I couldn't pick it more then anything haha, but I appreciate all the information and help. Cheers!

Universal Ren'Py Mod / URM [2.6.2] (mod any Ren'Py game yourself)
Very good tools to cheat, change variables, try multiple paths.
Should work for any Ren'Py game.
And it doesn't write anything in the game saves, meaning no issues when a game get an update (contrary to game specific mods which broke your save if they aren't updated when the game is).

Thanks mate! Isn't it shocking that I've been around here for 5+ years, played HUNDREDS of these games and have never heard of this tool until now...:FacePalm:

Just be aware that when first using URM that most the features aren't very very user friendly, if you gonna use it make sure you go to the options and make it as intrusive as you need, it can be more intrusive or a bit less, I usually just let the path and choice detected pop up on the top left of the screen but there is even more intrusive features hehe like the watchpanel and watch/monitor variables, just pick a game that you don't mind to experiment with.

After a while is like riding a bicycle, there isn't a single renpy game I don't use URM, even if isn't really needed haha.
Almost true. Alas, it does break on occasion, and Artemis is one of the titles I've played where it can. If you use the scrollback feature in the game sometimes it loses URM functionality until you exit or reload a game save.
The issue you mention happens in almost every game after you load a save and rollback at once, easy to fix, just load the save again :p. Never saw this happen after you move ahead into the game but not saying it doesn't happen, just never did with me.

But yes on Artemis there is an issue if you use the gamesaves tab and try to move to an page number with the feature "enter a page number", once you use this and go back to the game, every time you try to go to the game saves page gives an error, only way to fix it is force to enter the URM UI and on the gamesaves tab click on page A Q or 1 and then go back to the game.

First time I got this issue was a bit stuck to undo the mess lmao so I never use the gamesaves tab and advance save pages with it nor save with it on Artemis, it is the only issue I saw this game with URM and the only game I ever had this issue lol.

Actually I posted this issue more than once on this thread :LOL:.

Did anyone know when is the next update since the last update was 2 months ago?
I'm just asking, not complain.

Based on the last dev cycle, I'd suggest coming back in about 6 to 8 months. *This is merely a speculation and is not set in stone*
Thanks
but the compressed version is 4gb.
it's too much for my lil hard pc to handle it.
is there any way to compressed more?

Last update was just a few fixes and he added the Artemis cooing sounds.
As far as the next update? Well it's NOT! gonna take another 6 to 8 months that's
for sure! :ROFLMAO: Chapter 6 was delayed due to a family member getting sick{his mom}
It went on for months till she passed.

Artemis Book 1 was released on steam Apr 28, 2023{I had never even heard of it}
After playing it, I became a Patreon sub} Chapter 5 was released on October 30 2023
Not sure if he was working on chapter 5 before the steam release of book 1 but as you
can see, it sure didn't take over a year lol! Chapter 6 did but again there were reasons.
And no idea how development was during the first book. And remember his game updates
aren't a few thousand renders. He's usually around 5k a chapter.

It’s pretty messed up to see people give this game a 1-star rating just because they didn’t like the story or some parts. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, sure, but slapping a terrible score on a game just because it didn’t suit your personal taste is lazy and unfair. Devs spend hours, sweat, and passion making these games, and just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s trash. Lowballing it without looking at the bigger picture disrespects their hard work and only misleads others. Appreciate the effort, or at least be fair about it.

This game does not deserve a 1 or 2-star rating. C'mon now.
