I made a review pretty early on during development, so I can't make one now that I have got around to finishing the game. So I'll just leave some words here.
I think, ultimately, the biggest flaw in this game is the technical writing abilities of the author. I think the dev is able to world build and come up with the overall plot quite well, but actually writing the novel part is beyond their abilities (or their English proficiency). The dialogues are especially one dimensional, as is the general character interactions, and as a result, the character depth.
The other major flaw, as someone that played the evil route, was the completely abrupt switches into "evil dialogue branches." The vast majority of the script is written from a good guy perspective, but for certain scenes, the alignment variable is called and the MC turns into a complete sociopath. And then he goes right back to being a amicable dude. It's jarring and as far I can remember, there was never an introspective moment where the MC convinces the reader that he is just acting like a good guy to fool those around him. It might be implied by the fact that he tells his mind controlled sluts to act normal around others, but to me, that comes off more as a handwave justification for the limitation of the script which mostly just follows the same script for all three branches.
In one scene, he would be like "tee hee, you are so awesome Kat, let's have some wholesome sex." Then in the very next scene, the evil score could activate and he turns into some dominant gigachad, "Take it bitch, you slut, you cock sleeve, stupid cockslut bitch, take your master's seed, you worthless slut Alma!" And the whole time, I don't know what the MC's motivation even is. I know what my motivation is. To make him ascend into evil overlord status and ensalve all the sluts. I am certain this ending exists, since we are tracking the alignment variable. But the MC never acts consistent with this motivation, even though I know this is almost certainly what he will do at the end. And if you are to tell me that the MC wasn't sure until he got to the pivotal point at the end, then you also failed in conveying this fight against corruption, where he ultimately succumbs to his base desires despite trying to do good. No, that kind of narrative was never supported in the script.
And when it comes to sex scenes and the sex dialogues, oh boy, it becomes so repetitive. And so basic. Not to mention almost all sex scenes happen because the dev wants to put a sex scene here, rather than for any kind of coherent or plot relevant reason. And the sex scenes become so cheap and inconsequential. It leads to the sense that the game is overstaying its welcome. I honestly felt that way 2/3 of the way in.
The combat didn't quite reach the potential I envisioned for it when I first tried it many years ago, but among renpy games, it's still a pretty good combat system.
And the work ethic of the dev is something truly commendable!
I wish you the best of luck on your next project.
