I have a rebuttal to that whole hoarding rare items thing.
When possible, just...sell rare items? I'm not talking in this game of course, but other games in general. (I don't know if you can actually sell items in this game, so I'm shutting up about that.)
Turning them into currency could potentially benefit a player if they wanted to buy something that they could actually use a lot.
Idk, like, hypothetically if I had a rare potion that for whatever reason restored all my health points and gave me several buffs at the same time for only 8 minutes... But you only find it once in the game.
Yeah I could use it, but I don't want to because it's the only one in the game. But if I sold it, I could turn it into like, so many generic potions that I would definitely use all the time.
Or maybe the rare potion sells less than for a generic potion. Or maybe I'm already rich, and money means nothing. These things could also push against my idea.
