I also notice, rather worryingly, that the catgirl doesn't get an appearance in the poster at all. I do hope this doesn't mean that the best character in the entire game gets less content than she deserves...

Don't let this distract you from the fact that hes probably just buying time to fix more things. Steam never has done this to my knowledge with hundreds of other games. /woosh

I love the logic of "if I have to wait until December I'm afraid I won't be able to afford to buy it on any platform, the month begins and many of us have early expenses"
You know, some people do buy presents early so then they don't have to run here and there the last day before christmass like the mad cat who was shoot in the arse. And don't forget, some things must be ordered beforehand - just to be delivered in time. And money IS an issue for many people. Not to mention - 20 bucks during holydays.

- new year preparation
- some people spend new year celebration in expensive places instead in home/in pub/in public free events in home city
- it's also winter season so some people need to buy additional resources
- ofc obviously paying bills
At least I want this game at weekend. One of my coworkers quit the job today. This day will be a mess. If the game releases today, how many days took to create the .apk to upload it here?

Like if you can't afford to buy the game at X time + 1wk , how could you have afforded to buy it at X time unless you were forgetting about all the priorities listed above?

You see what you're using called "logic". If most of people could use it, a huge chunk of credit system didn't even exist along with millions of people who can't pay their credit payments.
And may I remind you we are discussing these things in a topic where gamedev made a contract with experienced published - yet SOMEHOW got surprised by SUDDEN Steam cheakup. Logic died long before it can be seen.

Nooo, you got it all wrooong. It all Steam's fault! Seasoned publisher together with dev fought like a lions, but Gabe personally intervened. Just wait a little longer! That'll be a great game, only for 20$ - almost for free!

I mean, if he means to do right by his patrons he'll release the game on the 30th so that they don't get charged for December due to Steam problems. If he doesn't even do that then I don't give a fuck anymore, dude's 100% milking on purpose in the most blatant, heinous way imaginable.

What you're assuming doesn't make a lot of sense, considering people won't immediately jump ship from his patreon after the game is done. I even think releasing it early will increase patreon numbers. Hes smarter if he releases the game through all channels and stores instead of waiting.
If he keeps developing games and considering how good Aurelia is, people will keep giving him money while people purchase the game on steam and itch. Patreon in this case serves more of a side venue and means to boost ones ego. The real issue is that keeping the game under locks when its clearly done gives a precedent to other developers that this sort of anti-consumer behavior is acceptable, as long as people willing to support developers that act in accordance to that.
If I would be in Mirthal shoes, the solution is simple. Give Valve a few days and then release it on all other possible channels and stores. This way, you ensure to frame Valve as the bad guys, instead of me as the developer willfully withholding the game intentionally, which is not what I would want for many reasons as the release date was already announced prior. You just ruin your own name, when it comes to marketing.
