which I think will bum me out since I think the older work looked better.
Some of the reworked Ivy stuff I thought looked amazing (the new titfuck especially) but even with my bias towards Walnusstinte's newer art I absolutely think there should be some form of toggle for people who want to select between old and reworked art where possible (or older scenes being collectible bonuses).

Aurelia's been around as a project for a long while, it's understandable that people will have grown attached to certain aspects of its earlier art! And none of it was ever less than good, so I think it'd be a shame to throw it away.

I've no doubt I'll still like the content - but the old style gave me strong Quest for Glory 4 vibes that for whatever reason I just really enjoyed and the newer stuff just didn't capture that feel. It's not fair for me to judge the art on that criteria since that's just a personal thing, when they were sliding over to the new artist the work was still outstanding but I likely haven't seen much of it.

Too much negativity, so lemme try and get some decent convo going :
considering the version of the game here was from a year ago, how much content do we think the dev has managed to do this past year? I personally wonder what the 2 locations that we can see on the map could have.

honestly, I am sticking to my "if I like a game enough, I'll buy it, even if I could pirate it" so just waiting for release.
Honestly I don't think there will be that much content really, most of the "new stuff" will be that many of the previous static scenes will now be animated but Mirthal mentioned not that long ago that they were taking some time to include some cut content so who knows.

I don't remember much but I feel that at least one location my be entirely related to the Harpy girl (the one that looks like a dock) at least that's the impression I had from our interactions with her and the last one must be related to the "Final Quest", probably only focused on finishing Ivy's tale or could even be related to the pendant that started this all.

Hopefully people will not need to wait much longer to find out.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I don't remember if the update cycle used to be monthly, once every 3 months or once every 6 months but 1 thing that should be available, if the game will be complete, is the full routes for the girls.

As someone said above, the minigames are nice and all but people will want to see the story. The minigames and the complete set of side stories in said minigames (like the dungeon stories) can be added after the release.

Ideally everything should be complete with a 1.0 version but many times what that actually means is that the main content is completed and you can play the game from point A to B, with the side content being pushed in updates.

Ex: having a 5 part story for the Succubus and the rest of the "tamable" monsters can wait

I've got a feeling it might suffer Nymphomaniac's fate and be in check for weeks only for Steam tell the dev to remove/change X if he wants them to give him the green light.

Then another 2-3 weeks of checking...once the devs does whatever change they told him to.

The game is vanilla af, I doubt it. Not even rape, incest or dubious age characters.
But yeah Steam Review sucks for the devs. Monolith Bay was rejected without way to appeal just because they got bad reviewer

Don't confuse the state of the game with its release anywhere. Steam may check it ten times in a row, and it will have impact only on some particular aspects. What I found strange - is the absence of the game on patreon. If Mirthal claims the game is ready - why he didn't release it for his patrons, who already gave him much more money than the price he will set? And they continued to give him money despite the long period of silence. Yet there is no game for patrons, wich is confusing.

I think that'd violate Steam policies, though I'm not certain

Because it will be leaked, people will beat it before Steam release and most won't even bother supporting dev after.
People nowadays aren't paying for playing games, they pay for a novelty. Like sheep buying new COD or FIFA every year just because it's new and "every cool kid now playing it". When hype dies no one cares anymore.

Steam release has nothing to do with releases on any other sites. You can releas it in gamepass, psn, epic games store and years after on steam - Gabe don't give a shit.
They have a rule tho that other platforms can't be cheaper than Steam, and it's also inclues distributing the game for free to Patrons...
Some devs partialy comply locking full builds behind tiers that costs more than Steam price, or only offering previous builds for free, but I think its also bannable.

U-huh, filthy piretes ruining it all? Really?
First - I said "releasing for his patrons", not making it free for everyone. Patrons ave him money specially for that - for the game.
Second - those who pays for fifa/cod every year I dont wan't to judge. Some people are just so dumb enough, so let them suffer their imbecilic behaviour. And about access early=not paying later - yeah, half of steam early acces titles says hello.

Eh, Patreon is voluntarily donations and Mirthal aren't owe them anything. When you want to buy the game you go to the store, not to some scammer cesspool where nothing is guaranteed (except lack of spicy stuff).

More like people being people. Would be hypocritical to blame pirates being on pirate site. It's just a fact that he will lose some sales by releasing early on Patreon and Itch, and any sane person would care more about money than about feelings of some dumb fucks who supported him for years

Really? Well...Nope.

Minimum Pricing Thresholds section.

Wordplay. Technically - yes, you pay to support. But I really doubt anyone will be happy to pay a hefty sum just to read "you know, thank you and all that, go buy on steam now." If he's going to pull that joke, well good luck with keeping his patrons then.

This is how the dev himself explains it:
GdAAPssXwAAFVTq.png
Yeah, right.
And also regarding Steam:
изображение_2024-11-25_210247863.png
Anyway, going back to the original twitter post
I've just been informed that Steam has this protocol in which they might do a "check" on games once you hit the release state (even if they already did several checks prior), which they've told me it can take on average 1-3 business days.
It seems strange. Like how can he be out of the loop on this?

Also I'm sure patrons themselves aren't very happy about this situation, could someone share some actual comments from there?

What you linked can neither confirm nor deny it. Nothing about price parity.

But there is ongoing lawsuit about Valve allegedly forcing devs to set same price:

And there some rules about keys:
1732558244305.png

So yeah Valve is a good guy, but you don't want to mess with them and trying to scam them or Steam users, that one they state clearly. Even big publishers like EA or Ubisoft offer similar prices and deals for their games on Steam, because they know they will be kicked out for not playing nicely.

So yeah if you offer your game "for free" to 5$ Patrons, but it's sold for like 10$ on Steam you are in a trouble. And I doubt it matters how long people paid said price and how much they was milked before :ROFLMAO:
