I thought the question was about the state of things in general. And it's not like this was his last payout, rite?
Well according to some, he's delaying it to squeeze out as much patreon bucks as possible in fear of it dropping off after release. Which would put the monthly payout probably around today, I believe. Problem with that idea is that, since he has a publisher, they're the ones that decide when the game gets released. And it's not like they get anything out of Mirthal earning more patreon bucks.

Who knows the exact deal details. And who knows what exactly is the state of the build that's getting checked (although this is basically conspiracy theory territory).

Then again, the original question was about 2022-2025 period and if we imagine for a second the publisher deal have been signed right after the first demo similar to how it was in the older days, we'd probably have the full version a year or two ago by now.

You should read the previous comments. His patreon money doesn't matter at all since with the release on steam he would get another stream of revenue. People are subscribed to him not only because of Aurelia, but to see what hes making next as well. Withholding the release just damages more of the reputation and therefore further gains.

Its shortsighted on whatever Steam is doing here but its really not a problem. The only problem is the lack of any plan B, really.

I'd say it's about time for a hard drive failure, a trip to the hospital or death in the family announcement. Just WEG dev things when the deadlines are long passed.
No-no, better start with something light.
Perhaps a hurricane or a flood? Maybe a blackout with unsaved validation progress.

Mirth was considering releasing the game earlier on itch and patreon, now he refuses to do just that after some extremely minor pressure from his audience because he doesn't want to upset the publisher. I think hes lying because a week ago his opinion were entirely different and Mirth knows he fucked up. I honestly think this game won't come out for quite a while.

Tell me a game where after announcing the release date a week long delay after release further held the game back. Thats honestly unbelievable behavior from anyone involved. I'm glad I'm a pirate and I don't honestly care about anything that happens here or about any of this shit, its just so retarded its funny.

He always says the game is the late cause of the Steam policy but I think that way too. The game was never ready and he needed an excuse for the delay

According to some comments on Mirths twitter, especially some people that work on porngames, Steam may take as long as half a year, depending on how many NSFW games they have to go through.
the only completed build of a game Mirth's publisher released this year only took like one or two extra days to pass steam inspection. maybe the intern testing Aurelia is just taking their sweet time to coom

"Steam" delays the launch. His audience start to suspect something(hopefully).
But he continues his "oh how terrible it will be to release on different platforms! Oh how they will cry! Poor, poor publisher."
Well good thing I cancelled my payments, so now he can go fu... further down this path, eat his good contract and let his dear publisher pay him instead. Fucking clowns.

I'd start with a change of place of residance which includes a looong period of new house renovation of course.

Then a hard drive failure.

After that...why not divorce? Or if not for drama then let him be super busy with a newly born kid.

Then a long period of silence...and the cheery resurrection of the game.

...which includes (of course) a complete remake of the game. That is still in its early stage obviously. Old version to the trash bin.

Hospital or death stuff...dunno but I'd just start with a hard Covid.

Then I'd add some mental problems due to all the aforementioned problems plus burnout.

In the meantime the publisher goes bankrupt.

And we have a Steam release by...guess when? ^^

Most likely is under contract to release at the same time on all platforms.
Who's supposed to be more important, the patrons that stuck with the project and want to play the game that technically they already paid for, or the publisher?
Now that is a terrible thing to do...
If it's a contract then there's really nothing to be done. Violating one is costly as fuck. But then why not just say so in the first place?

"I'm contractually obligated to a simultaneous release on all platforms." And it'll get most people off his back.
