You can scroll down the settings and there will be a checkbox named "Dialogue sound effects", turn that off to remove the GBA dialogue sound effectIs there a way to disable the "fake" voicing of characters speaking ?
It's very annoying and distracting from game-play .
Would rather have silence, or music in background . . .
(will try turning "off" sound effects, see if that works . . . but wonder what other sfx will get lost also )
I hadn't played the game in a couple of years, so I downloaded the latest version and decided to start a new file, and it looks to me like this interaction is broken starting with the overhaul in v29, with the changelog item here:As soon as I talk to Orson at the bar for the first time, the compass disappears and the door deactivates, so I can no longer leave the room.
I've tried working a shift and even gone into the save and changed my location (which does move me) but neither of those have made the compass reappear so I'm stuck in the same location.
Anybody have a solution?
EDIT: Actually, the tutorial is just somewhat vague in making it clear what the required next steps are to advance. After speaking with Orson and unlocking the ability to advance time, you must advance time once to the evening (trying to advance it a second time gets you some buggy dialogue from Ohro, which made me think the whole thing was just broken and stopped me from looking further down that path initially). Advancing to evening allows you to work a shift at the bar, after which it appears you can exit the bar once more. Can you double-check to see if it truly wasn't letting you exit the bar after working a shift?Reworked several sections of the game to add more clarity to the game questlines, including:
- The “first day” of the game to be a more guided experience for new players.
The achievements appear to be broken (from a description standpoint) since the overhaul for v29. The achievement pop-up is accurate as to which achievement you unlocked, but the achievement menu descriptions are offset, seemingly as a result of this change in v29:Haven't touched this game in a year/two. Decided to start fresh with the new download. For some reasons, most of the achievements that I'm able to get early on is bugged. Blackjack achievement have dungeons (achievement) descriptions. When i got the max agi achievement, while it pop up as on the side as 'lot of coke'- max agi, but it show up as 'transcend'- reach lvl100 in the achievement list. etc.
are there any other download/bugfix other then the one on the front page? f95 search function doesn't have any mention of 'achievement' or 'bug' this year, so i doubt anyone have this problem.
What appears to be going on is that the achievements they "removed" still exist in the game logic, but they are hidden in certain ways—for example, the Helping the Community achievement still triggers and gives you XP, but there's no space for it on the achievement menu and it doesn't t count toward your "overall" achievement number. I'm guessing there's some sort of array lookup going on that's running into trouble with one array being designed for the original 81 achievements and another being designed for the current 77.Removed 4 Achievements that we found unnecessarily obscure and not that fun:
- “Helping the community”
- “One of those stupidly obscure achievements”
- “Are you dead or something?”
- “Impostor!”
Not only on a similar 2d art level but also an actual game like this one, the only alternative is Price of Freedom: Avarice, idk any other ganes that are not a slog to go through as a sad excuse for VNAny other 2D games with animated art as good as this one?
