Is there any way of changing the resolution? I have an ultra wide monitor. The game opens in full screen with menu visible only partially in the right top corner of the screen. Switching to the windowed mode doesn't do any good either. Just adds a window frame, keeping everything else displaced.

As far as I remember, you need to use iron in the forge, then draw a vertical line three cells tall — leaving the top and bottom cells empty.
All I've done so far is put the dark gray ore in the blacksmith, put the three line in, and then when I want to make the nails, it says I couldn't make anything. Is there something I am missing?

Honestly, I got stuck at that part myself at some point. Either I didn’t have enough ore, or maybe after so many failed attempts my smithing skill leveled up and it worked. But later, when I drew the smelting pattern correctly, it finally worked.

Apparently, you can't catch it yourself (at least that was the case in version 0.11). I just sold random junk and bought cooked food and ingredients (including fish) from Alice.

The info you see is based on your intelligence. If you start out with low intelligence you can only see the name of the color. IIRC when harvest more of them or when some info is revealed to you from fox lady then you will start to find them by their names and not colors. At least this is how i remember it being in the past.

I drew the line in the mould, and then added ore. Makes sense that way... although it's a harsh lesson to lose ores doing it the "wrong" way.
The axe given to get wood for rebuilding the pier is a great tool for harvesting wolf meat, I used my free repair on that. You could also kill them with something else and use the axe to harvest the corpse. Ingredients for healing powder are plentiful, to offset the health loss of eating it raw before knowing any cooking recipe for it.

So, I don't know if this will be clearer than the game lol, but about lockpicking.
Hold down spacebar > slide the mouse to the right slowly until you hear a click > stop the mouse as soon as the click happens > while still holding spacebar, hold down LMB and then slide the mouse fully to the left
Once the lockpick hits the left corner the lock opens.
