Honestly, from what I read in that thread, I thought the developer abandoned this project because it was a code disaster or something similar, and so they opted for a simpler, albeit fun, approach.

Nothing that I noticed but the game had a shit ton of bugs before so its probably just bug fixes. This game ended up being really disappointing. It looked like it had so much potential when it first dropped but it just consistently got worse and worse. Even the art quality looked really amazing in the begining of the game and then all of a sudden even the art quality just took a nose dive.
