If i remember right, it should be able to rest after u speaking with Ayame mum, it will also open the option to work till night but dat will be officially available after u done with the second dungeon

had the same problem, after playing the main story the option to switch day/night will apear

how ? im doing the bathhouse thing detecting ghost but i dunno how to switch day and night
