My only real gripe with this game is the fact that you basically need a walkthrough to know how to get through the first 1/4 of it. There are too many choices that have a large impact that can't be easily discerned from bad ones, much less ones that just result in a game over. There are also a bunch that are extremely time-sensitive, and if you don't do them immediately or the same day you miss out on a lot of content. It really needed better dialogue and structuring to guide players and inform their choices.
That said, holy shit. I went the poly route up through the scene where she asks to be exclusive, then stopped, and the way the relationship between Christine and Jessica played out after she confessed sleeping with the MC, leading to that scene at the lake...wow. I kinda felt emasculated by how strong an emotional response that got out of me. It was really, really well written. Too many VN's approach making an "innocent" LI by having her be unrealistically naive and ignorant. They come across as having the mind of a child and it's just...ick. Christine on the other hand is portrayed as having a sheltered upbringing and ignorant of more lewd or suggestive phrases (Netflix and chill being an example), but her innocence is largely conveyed through her incredibly kind and caring nature. I love the way she was portrayed; she felt like a real yet exceptional person.
