I get that you pauses the cycle. You're one of the few that does that but when one behavior become a pattern over and over...that say something else. The pressure and the criticism sometime isn't fair but that is something as a Dev that come along with the job. Again don't take my comment to the heart.
I managed 40 peoples at my work place and I find that the best thing you can do for someone is to be honest to them. I've told countless peoples at my work place that this isn't the job for them and there are better suitable job out there for them. A few days later those people got move to different departement or got fired...
My guy, you're saying all this without any context in regards to t4bbo's situation. He's developed an entire game and is now working on the second one. How would he not be suited for the job? He's got thousands of followers and subscribers, making good money with his craft. His games are arguably better than 99% of the stuff you'd find out there.
The "behavior" you're talking about isn't the same your're seeing from your regular lazy game developer who abandons their game or starts milking their followers at some point. Those are the kind of people you could call out for doing a job not suited for them. Well, and the ones who simply make terrible games. T4bbo is certainly not one of those developers, and you'd probably see it in a different light if you had read up on what was going on in his personal life and the things he's had to go through which, by the way, is well documented as he's been quite open about it in the past. The situation with his wife and the financial situation he's had to solve this year. All of which he's talked about.
This has absolutely nothing to do with whatever behavior you've mentioned, and it's also completely unrelated to his craft. The only thing I'd criticize is his lack of communication at times. The back and forth since June I believe, to be more precise. That's the only thing he could have handled differently.
And incase you already knew what t4bbo struggled with but still decided to come up with that comment, well, that would only tell me that you're the one not being suited for a job managing 40 people as you apparently lack basic understanding and empathy towards people going through a hard time, which again has absolutely nothing to do with being suited for a job or not. Nothing you said sounds, atleast to me, like something someone with experience would say who manages 40 people at whatever job he's doing. Sorry, but that's coming from someone who actually works his own business having to deal with employees. But ay, don't take my comment to the heart.
