I think the issue is mostly bad implementation. I think both things can be summed up as AVNs are notoriously bad at sensuality. And sensuality is a key element of what makes lesbian scenes hot to most straight men. Whereas with a straight scene, simple seeing a P in V is usually enough to titillate while more is just a bonus, lesbian scenes are like foreplay scenes in that they require sensuality to be hot.
