Back Home - weekly update

Dear patrons and followers,

Last week I have been working slowly but steadily towards the end of this episode. It’s so close, I could almost touch it. Yesterday I passed the line of 800 new images, but I still need a few more. Not a lot more, though. A few. While I’m writing this, some new images are rendering.

I found out the Hester ending I’m working on now, needs some explanation to make sense. And rather than just let Hester explain, I want to show some of it. Showing is always better than telling, in my opinion.

If all goes according to plan, rendering will be ready within a few days. After that, there will be rubbing and polishing, testing, (re) coding and translating. There usually are a few images that need to be redone or I find scenes that need one or two extra images.

So, I can’t give you an ETA yet, but it’s getting really close.

Current status: 805 images, 45 animations.

Personal preference, I'd say.

Rico Caramba opted for high(ish) quality JPEGs which better preserve details on fabric, foliage, or skin. The compressed counterpart is lossy WEBP at -m 5 -sharp_yuv (implying cwebp's default of -q 75) and sacrificed several small details – like on the pores of her nose, the vellus hair on her upper lip, and the texture of her lips, for instance – to not introduce compression artifacts while going so low in file size. Given the same size, a highly-optimized lossy WEBP image should only beat a highly-optimized JPEG image in perceived image quality once encoding quality is set sufficiently low (as the loss of detail isn't as detrimental as the introduction of compression artifacts). Do take note that both encoders work

The above is a rather long-winded way of saying that they really shouldn't look better, but between people not caring for or actually being unable to perceive such small details and others finding the lack of detail making for a 'smoother' look, WEBP is often seen as being the generally better format.

Lighting difference I'm guessing. It looks like she's being lit from the left side, so that side of her face is much brighter. The lower lighting on the right better shows her freckles and makes depth perception easier. Despite Hordragg's lengthy reply there doesn't seem to be any loss of textures that I can see.

Fell in love with Hester's character but Just can't bring myself to go down that route of her wanting to be a porn actress especially when she stays where she is when the mc is leaving. If she trusts you enough why couldn't you have wrote a route where she could have carried on the journey with the mc it seemed pointless having any options here and you should have just made it where the mc leaves? Just not my thing knowing hundreds of thousands of people will be seeing a LI of mine in a intimate pose or performing sex acts on camera especially when she will end up sleeping with other women and men just to make money.
