I updated the header image in the OP btw, always thought it looked kind of ugly, but never got around fixing it.
Recently I started preparing a steam release and had to make some new images for that (they're very specific with how images have to look), so I thought I'm gonna change it here too^^

I really don't give a shit about steam....
It's still Valve, last time I checked, and that's a reason not to install their launcher.
(Yeah, there have been good times with Valve, when they released good games without forcing you to be online, using your data and a few things more. But that's about ... 30? years ago).

Why Steam?

If you still release a (different?) version for free, do you think you can get more users with steam?
Are you planning to go steam only?

Don't get me wrong. Devs should make their income with their work.

It's simply to get bit more support and a bigger audience, I've lost my job right at the beginning of rona, and this is kinda officially my job by now, so I have to get some money in somehow. Patreon just doesn't cut it, some months it was barely enough to pay all bills and it's risky as well.

To the game: I've changed a few things that are steam specific (no patreon/ss links and one scene cut short), but I've also included a little "switch" in the code for when I ever need it. The package is essentially the same, it's just the switch that changes a few lines.

Regarding steam itself, I've never had a problem with them (aside from them blocking lewd stuff ). I very much prefer it over almost every other store (and especially epic's store and launcher which is much, MUCH worse than steam!).
That being said, it's a real pain in the arse to release something there, at least when you've never done it before...

Steam is a good way to advertise the game and get some more incoming. Besides they have been quite open to XXX games in the last years. Quite a few developers either release games there already or plan to.

Regarding steam itself, I've never had a problem with them (aside from them blocking lewd stuff ). I very much prefer it over almost every other store (and especially epic's store and launcher which is much, MUCH worse than steam!).
That being said, it's a real pain in the arse to release something there, at least when you've never done it before...

Rec did you try asking another devs that already released games there? Maybe they can help you with some of the things the plataform asks.

Can't you use a VPN and go to Steam as if from North America to see anything you want?

I used to go to Netflix "from Japan" to see the different lists

This month probably not, next month.... probably not as well^^
We'll see how things go, the overall quality of my render has improved a lot over the past months/year and I was able to keep the rendering speed kind of consistent by getting better hardware, but I'm missing one of my grafics cards now (luckily the slower one), so it's hard to predict. I've had really long rendering times with one of the scenes I'm working on, but it's also the biggest scene (environment) I've ever used and that part is finished now, so I hope the rest will go a lot faster.

Ahh sorry man. I forget that I am spoiled sometimes. I got 800Mbps and NordVPN does not seem to slow me down much.

Now I am curious what country has the largest list of adult games.... I am seriously going to go down that rabbit hole sometime I know myself.

Yes VPNs reduce your internet speed but with that connection you are unlikely to noticed the difference.

I don't really see the point in achievements for these types of games but I see that you want some because of the steam release.

Theoretically, you can add one for every decision the player makes but that wouldn't make sense, I can only see 2 possible achievements and these are when the player chooses the harem path and when he finds the birth certificate.

Trust me, there are a lot more possibilities^^
And I'm actually on your side, I was never a fan of achievements, but oh well...
