The MC's actual mom is dead, and that's always been a major plot point. Rachel was nothing but the MC's dad's live-in girlfriend after that. Hell, Rachel never even got married to the MC's dad, so she technically isn't even a stepmom. And because they were never married, the house technically belongs to the MC rather than Rachel.

All of those things play a big role in the story, and they've been part of the plot from the very beginning. Rachel is not the MC's mom, and she was never supposed to be either.

Rare. There is some "girl talk" that will have different dialogues, some introductions, and of course, the dialogue in the H-scenes

Sounds to me like you're overcomplicating things. Developers often include references to other games in their own. And it's not advertising, it's just a kind of tribute. Maybe they're friends or acquaintances. Or maybe he just liked the game, or Ellie in particular.
And the connection between the universes... well, that's a bit of a far fetched idea.

D'oh! I had no idea I totally imagined the whole sequence in Alternate Existence that explained how the one character in that VN knew and interacted with two of the characters in this VN. Boy is my fucking face red.

I think you are overreacting. I haven't played Alternate Existence, so I can't say for sure. It's just my opinion (which I haven't changed). Trying to change anyone's mind here is counterproductive. I learned that a long time ago, and I don't even try.

I stumbled on this by accident and I have to say that these are some top notch images.
I am usually a sucker for a good story and writing, going as far as saying that the graphics are easily secondary to the plot and writing as most of the action happens in your imagination when it is well served. But these images of the girls are some of the best I have seen in a VN. Great work to the Dev, especially if he is a one man band.
