I’ll update the links once the other version releases.

Bamh keeps getting better and better, the way he animated those tails was really good :sneaky:
Thanks for the video, but Absolutely no thanks for the VikingFile link. It’s unsafe.

=>classic malicious redirection scheme.
The main issue is that:
  • the link does not lead directly to the expected file;
  • it redirects to MediaFire
  • instead of a legitimate file, you end up with a ZIP containing an .exe and scripts ...

In contrast, sites like Pixeldrain or Gofile are much more transparent:
    -direct downloads,
    -no “installer” ZIPs,
    -no disguised executables

While I do agree that VinkingFile mirror is less appealing and sometimes a pain in the ass to navigate than the other ones, it still wouldn't be part of the options if it was extremely malicious and completely untrustworthy. You just need the right ad-blocker, a VPN, and if you are using a phone. Open any file you want by pressing down on it and select "open in another tab/background tab". If you just open the link directly on that tab it will trigger a pop-up every time you download a new file. By opening in separate tabs, you only need to deal with 1 pop-up and the other on-screen ads can just be ignored.

I don’t know what’s happening on your end, but Vikingfile works fine for me. If you don’t trust it, just use the other link.

I’d usually upload to Pixeldrain or Gofile, but the last time it got reported :HideThePain:

To be more specific:

With the link in question:

Here’s what it opens
1767642354944.png

If I click "Download", this is what it opens:
1767640508686.png

If I insist several times on the original "download" of the first page (which therefore opens a new scam page each time ... so it’s clearly a pure scam and something malicious), it does eventually download the video, but:

My browser warns me that the file is potentially a virus (probably because of those scam pages…) and asks me to delete it (or take the risk of keeping it)

None of this is normal.

I don’t want to derail the topic, but where can I report issues concerning Vikingfile? There’s a discussion about it:
The only times I’ve had problems like this on F95 were exclusively with Vikingfile links.

Example:

→ Score: 100 – completely OK

→ Score: 20 – terrible

→ Score: 100 – completely safe

And the same goes if we test the links directly using:

or

There is nothing to report. The link is working as intended and without issues.

The problem is isolated to you alone.
If you are getting redirected to anywhere instead of downloading the file - there is an issue with your machine.

Seriously, am I the only one?

Thanks, I’ve submitted a ticket ( even though it probably won’t do anything anyway ). One thing’s for sure: I won’t be using Vikingfile links anymore.
I’ll stick to Gofile, Pixeldrain, Terminal, Mega, and similar services.
Adblock is by no means a real security solution.
Vikingfile is a complete rip-off. It’s not just ads it’s straight-up scam.
It’s one thing to add tons of ads (even if it’s annoying) to make money, but it’s another thing entirely to try to install malware and other crap.
(I use a dedicated PC for hentai, but it still annoys me, because even if you’d have to be stupid to actually open the zip, it shows that this site uses links to trick and rip people off, not just to make money from ads… and if that’s their mentality, no thanks (especially since if they’re already doing this, imagine what’s next).)

Well then you probably did read these #1,512, #1,551

"Adblock is by no means a real security solution."

It is tho.
I use Adblock + uBlock + integrated into browser Ad Blocker + there are lots of security settings build in the browser.
I don't actually know if they stack at all, or make it better or worse :p but it's been working so far.
I havent seen an ad or pop-up links in years.

And if a website is actually malicious, your browser just wont let you in or will give you a warning at least.

Ps. Thread will indeed need a clean up

You aren't the only one. I tried it once, and even with uBlock, Firefox or maybe my antivirus flagged the download as malicious. I had to mark the download as safe to get the file intact. Since then I would also really prefer not to use any Vikingfile links I see.

People tend to dismiss issues that don't affect them directly, but it doesn't mean they aren't there, especially with so with many different hardware and software setups on PC.

To be fair, I have the same issue with Vikingfile sometimes. But I always thought it was just some ad bullshit, like with Bunkr.
I do prefer Gofile or Pixeldrain, but all in all I think all you gotta do is play it safe. Use adblock and just pay attention on what you're clicking / downloading.

I've had the Vikingfile malicious popup as well anytime I've clicked links directing there but being cautious as I am I just don't go through with it and instead use the other links provided. I personally hate Pixel due to the download limitation but if I have to suffer through it then so be it.

It's one thing I'm grateful for, people providing a variety of other links to use.
