Ngl I immediately downloaded the 1.0 version because I can't fucking stand mosaic censorship. It reminds me of those cuck porn images where a girl's pussy is censored or blurred, and there's a large bottom meme text that say "just imagine little man" or some shit.

Anyways, downloaded, played, and was surprised by the English. It's fucking awful. It sounds ai generated. It was a complete step down from the old version.

Glad the fan translation is good, people actually talk like people.
That still sounds better than what I was thinking of. There was this one fan translation of another of his games, where the translator tried to add a personal twist or make it funny or something, so they constantly said incredibly stupid and cringe stuff, it was hilariously bad.
Funnily I don't mind the censorship, I actually hate most uncensored hentai, especially videos.

Forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn since I obviously don't know if you compared the original script vs. the fan translation you're referring to. That sort of thing is well within the realm of possibility as I'm sure some translators take a lot of liberties.

I just wanted to point out from personal experience though that you'd be surprised how often that sort of thing is in the original script. At least in some of the Japanese games I've translated, they can get a little bizarre with certain characters. Sometimes it's bad enough to the point that you almost don't know how to make it make sense in English. There's one specific character stereotype (the westerner who doesn't speak Japanese very well) where if you try to translate that into English it just makes them seem stupid. Sometimes they're already using english words it's just Japanese text. So it's also not uncommon for the translator to make something similar up to preserve the meaning.
