Err... this is a forum. The point is to discuss and offer opinions about the subject.

Do you understand the process of making a game?

Toby Fox finished Undertale, independently, in less than 3 years, with the only help being with Temmie Chang. It really shouldn't be taking this long for a simple rhythm game.

I want to trust them. But they aren't making it easy to do so. I love the concept. I even backed them with money for a bit. If the issue is a lack of experience, then they should be hiring someone experienced.

Ironic much? I like how when you point out your criticism of the game is invalid you think it's trolling because you can't accept that the point you make make no sense and your just mad but not at the lack of content but just getting made for the sake of it. It's kinda pathetic. This game is going at a steady rate but you just blind to see it and expect a small indie studio to make 20 levels by one week. :FacePalm:

When this game came out first I was very hyped for it since I like rhythm games and this one felt the best out of any adult rhythm games I've tried but holy shit did it go to waste.

The updates were decently paced with good content at first, but after they got more people on Patreon they just started making this into a nothing burger. No content updates, at one point went back and removed animations that were already ingame to update them in the future. It really feels like they're making updates for the sake of having updates without getting anywhere closer to a full release to just squeeze the money out of the patreon.

And to think I was planning on supporting this project at first. Now I feel validated for not doing so. Patreon really is one hell of a drug.
i swear as soon as any NSFW game dev makes it into the 4 digits a month they just stop all together :/

Honestly most of these people who complain (like you) just dint understand the process of making a game. The devs have added a lot of content, lovense support, updated sprites, and other stuff. Have you not noticed? Oh wait you wouldn't have because you like complaining. It's just mob mentality.

First of all, it's an opinion on a forum that's made for discussions. You say they added a lot of content but they in fact haven't. The content was miniscule at best when taken into account it's been 2 years. Sure it sucks they had to redo all their progress due to Copyright issues (just 3 levels mind you) but since then the development has been worse than stagnant.
Nobody asked for lovense support and to add onto that I never even seen anyone use lovense for non-sex sim games. There's literally no point to lovense support in a Rhythm game for extreme majority of players. Not even mentioning that it's really not that hard to make the Lovense support since the people at Lovense did a great job with accessibility. The only reason they did it was because it seems practically every notable adult game added (or plans to add) lovense support, but said games are more suitable for it (dominantly sex sims)

You're just dismissing people who have objective (and therefor logically negative) outlook on the game as "haters who don't know how anything works". I know decent amount about indie game development, in fact enough to tell me there's no reason for them to release such lackluster amount of content for the amount of money they're getting paid through Patreon.

If you pay the exact same amount of money they had gotten from patreon so far to ANY half-decent game developer, they'll give you a way more finished game than this one in couple of months, even if they have to outsource some stuff with said money. The main issue is, in the adult game development sphere, those are few and far between. Which makes sense, since those usually choose the non-adult game dev. career path.

You shouldn't be asking people that question when you have zero idea yourself, the project is a simple rhythm porn game, it should NEVER take that long to get anything done, This isn't the same as Undertale where it's more than a simple bullet hell game, because Beat Banger has nothing special to it that needs alot of patreon money to achieve.

You should also do your research before coming here derailing the thread complaining about other people here (who paid real money for this) not being happy with the product, if you had paid for an early access product and the devs made sure to underdeliver its promises, you would've felt duped too.

I'm done arguing about this. The game is going along SLOWLY and people just want 20 different levels weekly, let the devs cook and we get good content.

The problem is never that the game is unfinished, the problem is that with every new monthly goal reached through patreon donation or steam sales, the developers have repeatedly avoided updating the game, instead choosing to host events unrelated to the game such as VRChat meetings or adding a Lovesense update which does absolutely nothing.

Even if the content is promised its not guaranteed. But people like YOU obviously don't understand
And that's the excuse you came up with? If the devs promised a content will be added if you just pay them a thousand dollars more, they'll add it in? Obviously i don't understand because when they said they will add gay content into the game if they reach the money goal, the first thing that comes to mind is that it will be added in a month or less, only to find out that when they reached said goal, they said it will come out next year, so explain to me since i don't understand, why do you need to postpone a feature you were paid graciously for to add? Nobody was told it was going to be postponed for next year, yet the devs pulled the curtain on that and somehow people like me don't understand like you say.

From what i know of Game Dev you can only work so fast as the slowest part in the machine (the art in this case) which is probs why they added Lovesense support so as for the coders not to sit on their asses

If their codebase is any good, then a version bump doesn't mean much aside from some refactoring to fix breaking changes. If anything the code should be pretty much final given how much long they've been at it. Code is meant to be reused.

Which means adding a new level just means producing a 2 minute music track, a chart and drawing ~30 frames of animation. Maybe include extra time for drawing stills for the cutscenes if you really wanna be generous. I'd argue getting levels out is more important for now though.

Split the workload between what, 7 people? I fail to see how that takes 3 months. Seeing the amount of minor fixes and trivial changes they're pushing with each update, it's kinda hard to have any faith in this being finished in a reasonable timeframe. Which is convenient for them, seeing how much money they're raking in every month.

I would give up trying to reason or explain anything to that idiot being. It is clearly visible that no matter what, they will repeat the same thing. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone told me they were paid to blindly defend the devs since that would explain everything. But the whole thing can essentially be finished with:

"I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you."

So let's all just block this person so We don't have to deal with them ever again and be done with it.

Like I said months ago, the devs are changing tactics to fuel hype rather than work on the game. Doing convention shows, community events, streams, meetups, all while the animations are agonizingly slow to churn out despite them being simple loops. Progress is no longer a priority, they don't have to release the game to make their money anymore.

To add on, the music production isn't even an issue. The tracks for Act 1 have been done ever since each level got sketched out, which was months ago at this point. Hell, I think all of them (or at least 4/5) got extended when BunFan decided to change the loops for each level. Point is, music and charting is, as we can gather, not at all a problem within their workflow and update progress; it's everything else.
