Not sure if these are good changes...

Will have to see how it plays out, but that narration style... explaining what I should be seeing in renders... bleh.

As for the posing. Those minor details can make a game stand out from others. Doesn't need to be after every sentence... but showing the mouth open when someone is talking, closed when they're listening. Facial expression changes. Sometimes hand gestures... make it feel more authentic. Having a static render over 20 lines of dialogue is boring.

But again, will have to see what it looks like...

I can't stand inner monologues and being told what I see. Drives me up the wall.

As for the renders I think it might be better. Especially if it cuts down dev time by a lot in order to get more out.
When I see the different facial expression and a 3 render scene actually had 25 renders it just makes me lose interest in the scene knowing the far too slow dev cycle probably had something to do with the 900 render update being 4500 renders for little to no content.
Sometimes less is more.

But it is a hard thing to balance how much you tell with writing and how much you tell with the art and renders.

Yep, I don't need to be told what I'm seeing that gets old very quickly.

On the money, friend. Those little things are huge. Case in point--I remember playing Leap of Faith and while the MC is speaking with someone in the hospital room, the patient was in the background messing around with stuff around the hospital bed. It brought a sense of realism and frivolity to the scene that really helped sell the story. I've ran into a few VNs along the way that use excessive amounts of static renders, but still pull off a halfway decent story. But that's the exception, not the rule.

Those tiny little touches definitely help. Way better than straight on camera view where the mouth might open and close when they talk to MC.

I think he made speeches like this about being more consistent like at least 3 times in the past. He is totally right that no one should believe him until he actually shows that he can walk the walk.

To clarify, im not gonna cut renders down so much that you can’t see their mouths opening and closing. I’m just gonna be sure not to overdo it with tons of pointless ones like slight eyebrow raises. In the grand scheme of things it does save a tremendous amount of time.

And you will still be seeing what is being described in the renders lol. I am simply having my friend help to cut down on time spent writing and not posing/rendering. It’s a win win for me. All I was saying is expect less renders that don’t matter, so I can focus on what does matter. Which is the action, the setup, the atmosphere of the renders. Not just characters talking, but emotion and so on. Basically, I want to focus more on composition and less on the basics.

In terms of the writing I was just warning everyone it’ll be more detailed as it’s not my writing so much anymore. Believe me, I’ve read through the entirety of the script. It is beyond what I could have envisioned prior to seeing it. And I hate reading. So for me to love it, I’m excited to see how it’s received.

I bought this game on steam, would have at least expected another update by now....
Supported before that on Patreon as well, I like the game but the gaps between updates makes this really dissapointing and me losing interest in the game.

I updated in September? And I’m about to update. The update from September is live on Steam.
