It's very annoying when you have to start from the beginning of the game with every update. Clickfest at its worst. Very annoying.
At what stage of the game's development can I continue the game and not start from the beginning again and again?
That's a totally fair assessment, and I wish I had a better solution to the current issues in development than the probably not as effective mid-game jumps.
Unfortunately, at least for the coming two updates, the development won't be entirely backwards compatible as I am working on the same monthly events.
?Basically, the game is coded under months of content instead of normal progressions. Prom being in the end of May usually, that means the end has a set ending during that month. That is why I cannot allow for more days to pass than is necessary for the content. In addition to that, every month of in-game content is taking around 3-4 months of real life development (there is a lot of stuff happening in my MC's world). That is why oftentimes, every 3-4 updates are part of the same month, making it incompatible with one another as the game looks to catch up with all fronts throughout the week.
So, as an example, the current version, 0.3.2, has only the monday through thursday classes for the month of March. There are aspects of the game that are finished for that month, while other aspects are missing. If the game was backwards compatible, you'd start the next version with a save at the end of march, making you miss out on friday classes for example, or on other elements in side stories and the like.
The best solution that I've found so far is the mid-game jumps, which bring you to the closest logical point to see all the new content.
Next update fixes all the early game stuff, especially the social media events and friendship milestones, and the one after that will bring a closure to all of March's events leading into the Spring Break

At that point, you'll be able to save your progress and play the next update, spring break (one full week on content planned), moving forward from that point instead of repeating everything.
