I haven't played since last year (BAD is WAY too complicated for the average player with an actual IRL life). I'm afraid to use any mods because when I used an old save (2020) I get a 'mod' error, then the game quits. Is the gallery mod safe to use or will Dr PC break my game?

PS: I know I'm little hard on Dr PC, but bottom line everything about BAD is awesome. Some of the hottest chicks in gaming, great story and dialog. But way too complicated and time consuming. I play a ton of other games DMD Sunshine Love Shut up and Dance, so I can't spend all my time on One game.

I play BAD in 1 hour when an update comes out lol. all paths. Then again after 6 months, so I don't really know how this game consume any time.

So I decided to try to do it myself.
After realizing how the game works, I came up with idea.
But that idea required decompiler to work.
So I took parts of my tool and merged it.

The result is Ultimate Gallery Unlocker that should work with any version. (Not tested.)
If dev doesn't change game structure in the future, this should stay valid.

can confirm it works with 8.1. hopefully you are right about it working with future releases.

Was going to use this but it seems like it's a bit buggy...? I guess I'll wait then to be safe

EDIT: Tried it, and it works for me for 8.1

That's what I don't understand myself. All the mods I have for my games work flawlessly since day 1. Those same mods give others migraines. I just plopped this thing right in and prest-change-o, everything was unlocked.

You could try if unrpyc alone works for you.

Anyway how can I help you when you don't provide any information whatsoever?
I mean:
  • What OS do you have?
  • Did the game launched like nothing happened?
  • Did you got an error? What kind of error?
  • What happened to mod file?
And my mod is meant to be of single use.
Previously I made it to remove itself after use.
But in last version I change it to rewrite itself,
with the log of changed persistent variables.
(Means mod changes from actual mod to only comments)
Mod also now does nothing if it can't locate itself in game folder,
but this shouldn't be the case, cause it didn't work before too.

The mod doesn't work for 0.8.1, I can confirm it. New scenes are still locked.. so please: Update.

You clearly didn't understand how my mod works...
It can't be updated. XD
It can only be fixed, because my mod generates unlocking mod.
This is probably a cause why this is not working for everyone.
A failure in generating, and thus far no one is willing to help to fix that...

I could share generated mod, but it would only be valid to version 8.1.
But that's against my idea. If you want an update, ask author of this thread to update his mod.

Doesn't work for me either, some scenes remain locked with this mod just same as with default gallery.rpy

upd. ok, I've found the solution(at least mod works for me now): you gotta delete gallery.rpyc along with replacing gallery.rpy so that a new one would be generated when the game starts.

Then it's author fault for not putting screen in init block.
(To make load his modified screen after the original, not before.)

Anyway I don't get why people do mods using whole files,
and do request of you to override existed ones.
When they can do it in copies and use only parts that requires changing.
If you are a bit crafty of course.

I got confused for a second here, because again specifics wasn't provided.
I mean someone writes to me another person not, and they don't tell you what happened at all.
Just magic work: "Doesn't work". Like that would fix anything. XD

And if we are talking about this mod, I will tell you why 100% scenes doesn't work with it.
Because they require persistent variables to be set to True.
That's why my mod only changes persistent variables and that's all you need,
because gallery is already made that way by game dev.
You can remake gallery all you want, but for what purpose?

I never askes anyone else except the mod and creator of the mod itself for an update, so I don't really care about anything else tbh.
