Actually, the part that I was most disappointed in wasn't the Josy reveal but the library scene where Maya and Josy instantly forgive one another. It just wasn't believable, at all. I was also shocked that they hadn't talked it out in the time between the reveal and the library.
I think they had time to process their feelings a lot. they just lost a potential great love in MC. they are about to lose the remaining one. it's a desperate choice to cling to the current relationship, and honestly it's pretty common. they both blame Maya's father for their current predicament, so part of the betrayal's fault fall on him in their mind, and the rest is "you're just as bad as me". faced with lonely and despair, they will choose the one that still loves them and who they still love, sharing the blame.
and to me, that's the moment an MC that isn't interested in them should choose to walk away without saying anything at all.
and you're right, it's weird that they didn't come clean and admit to the cheating to each other before, but it might be become they were both afraid of losing everything, even though each knew that MC knows and that Derek might also know.
How can there be an official break-up if the other person no longer answers you?
several solution, the cleanest would be to take the train and go see them face to face. why she didn't even think of that when she sees MC do that exact thing ?
alternatively, you can just call and leave a voicemail saying it's over. or even write a text, but that's pretty shitty
at least, that way YOU make it official for yourself even if the other actively tries to avoid it.
I just hate that we're on a cliffhanger about Rio. In my wishful fantasies, my Quinn/Other Girls playthrough has Quinn calling me to come help...even though I realize Tommy is probably who she'd call first, if she called anyone. I could easily imagine her storming over to talk to Buddy and handle this herself. I'm sure it won't be that simple though.
Quinn does come to you to escort her in EP10 if you're on her path. so you might just be the new emergency call now. she doesn't even ask Tommy.
But who knows how DPC will continue to use "not ep8_recital_failed".
everyone knows: he will use it in every scene that requires a reference to the successful recital and everything linked to it like the video. even indirect references like MC's guitar skills being publicly known, or MC and Jill publicly knows as friends.
if she'll come crawling back for some secretive fun-times again.
if she is divorced and it's public knowledge, she might not need to hide it that much now.
I can't wait to see what sort of drama this route will produce. Should be some interesting fireworks, or at least I'd hope so.
the first obvious one that you forgot : Sage finding out. and you're her boyfriend right now on that playthrough
