Also, its not clear if the mc is cutting romantic ties with the girls he doesn't choose because he doesn't want to lead them on anymore, or if he doesn't want to be cheating on his chosen LI. Given all the soul searching he's been doing of late, it seems like the latter to me. In which case, just how will DPC get around this to keep the sex going, or will the mc be monogamous going forward.
I agree with you.

As for how DPC will handle this, I think he can rely on the fact that players usually have one run per LI (this will be even more true now that the choice is made in EP8). So there will be less sex on a run, but most players will play 4 or 5 runs per episode.

He can also decide to delay a bit the MC's decision to become exclusive with the LI of his choice (for example with Sage).

If DPC undoes “choosing” a girl by forcing a dilemma between whomever you chose and Zoey I will probably just stop playing for a bit. No I’m not being dramatic and saying I’ll give up on it entirely but I’ll probably wait and see how it pans out before I decide to play it.
It will not happen. It won't be forced. With Zoey, we will have a clear choice, either an internal questioning from the MC, or directly Zoey who offers to pick up where they left off, and the MC who will answer Yes/No/Maybe.

i also dont understand why we needed to make that decision so early in the game
i mean, this game is supposed to have 12 episodes. if we make this important decision on ep8 it basically means that the game will cock block us for 4 episodes...
I find it quite logical considering the story told from the beginning and the state of mind of the MC.

Yes, he thinks with his dick quite often, but when it comes to the 5 LIs, it's different. The MC's goal with LIs isn't just to fuck.

(one might even think that it was a little late in some cases)

As for the cockblock, it is already effective. I don't know how many different runs it takes to see everything, but I would say 3 or 4. And that doesn't take into account the traps left by DPC, for example if on my Sage run my MC fucked Jade, I know that is going to be problematic.

Nah, I firmly believe the game will have a happy ending (with a handful of caveats). I just fear we're doomed to slog through a groundhog day-like third season before we can get there. Assuming we all live long enough, obviously.

Fair enough. I just appreciate the way Dany will back off if you do actually apologize to her. She's still fairly low on my list.
Oh, I was just joking. I didn't actually mean that.

Yea that's why I'm at least hoping I can get what I want out of ep 9 then we can proceed with that tired dance routine in ep 10 and on. Mostly just because the wait for ep 9 has felt like a real slog. Future episodes' development times probably won't be better but whatever. I at least just want this.

Becky is not a threat. You can only get her to blow you if you're a DIK, she won't go for it if MC is neutral or chick (I tried). As thr M&J trio seems to require being a chick, I don't see those players crossing the line with Becky unless they have cheated to change game variables.
I could be remebering wrong but I think I did actually go full-on DIK in one playthrough with Maya and Josy right after the episode 2 status check that determines whether you can be in a relationship with them. So ... I think I stepped on that landmine in one of those playthroughs lol. I missed out on "Chick" only scenes but overall it still worked.

I just thought "MC got the greenlight to keep fooling around and it seems like there aren't anymore status checks like that so I'm not going to worry about it anymore going forward."
Why did I do it? It's just fun to try different combinations for this game. I also didn't use a mod to alter anything about the status or affiinity.

... Was it episode 4? Idk. The one where MC stops throwing a bitch-fit about them and just settles things.

Just a thought but ... if MC hadn't harped on Sage about "not being the rebound guy" then she probably could have been included in "Others". It doesn't work with how DPC wrote the Crossroads decision and I realize he probably wrote the MC like that intentionally to ultimately pigeonhole us into either be in a relationship with her or stop altogether. But damn if things were different that'd be a pretty cool route to be on. Just sayin.
Imagine it. She's still a main girl but she's also a side girl.

Edit: Yea I know that doesn't make any sense to the story but what if, you know?

Tomorrow marks a full year since episode 8 was released. It's a pretty impressive feat. Congrats to the visionary and genius DPC, who somehow managed to get subscribers to pay for a full year of monthly contributions without releasing a new episode.
Give the simps some "eye candy" and they'll be blinded from the truth.
Most patrons understand that the money they provide (a few dollars a month - some more) is not to buy the game, it's to support DPC while he makes the game. His track record and continual communications with his patrons strongly indicates he's not just spinning his wheels watching the money roll in.

So far the length and quality of each episode has been commensurate with the time it has taken. Even the Interlude, which was significantly shorter than an actual episode, when you take in to considerations all the other things that occurred, took about the right amount of time to complete (regardless of whether anyone wanted it).

And of course, as much as the detractors like to pretend it's been a year since the last release, at this very moment it's only been 8 1/2 months since the last release, and it'll likely be 10 months or less when the next episode drops.

Considering episode 8 only took 6 1/2 months to create, it's definitely a big jump in development time, especially when DPC mentioned he was trying to reign that in, and it's clear his preference to add longer animations is the key reason it's blown out so much, hopefully the animations are worth it (unlikely) or that he learns his lesson and doesn't let it happen like this again.

But just remember, if it wasn't for generous people prepared to support these AVN developers, they wouldn't exist, and we'd be left with just Japanese AVNs.

If everyone just sat back and scoffed like you guys, there'd be nothing to scoff at...

Isn't that obvious? The choice of branches in EP8 will have a great impact on the history of the MC. That's why Crossroads.

If the MC chooses the "other girls", this decision will be much more pornographic than if the player chooses Isabella. And why? Pink Rose Girls, Restaurant Girls, Vixens, Swyper Girls, Zoey. Most of these girls actually just want horny sex without any relationship commitments.

But the branches for Josy, Maya, Jill, Isabella and Sage are closed.

"Other": this option is available only if you are not in the relationship of Josy and Maya and do not have a successful relationship with Jill. If you decide that none of the other girls are right for you, you reject all relationships with the main girls and remain friends with them."

This is the player's decision and he only gets the "other girls" if he is willing to sacrifice all LI branches. But gets what he wants. Porn game.

Personally, I don't want my MC to end up like Floyd or Neil.
so in your opinion the choice of the eighth chapter is final

in the middle of the game

unlikely
i also dont understand why we needed to make that decision so early in the game

Having a relationship is one of the crazy things people do in college, so it's perfectly fine to have such option. If you don't want to be with only one girl then simply pick "Others", that's exactly what it is for, fucking around while avoiding any commitment.
Mostly true but this particular game has a fix for everyone.. I think there's more behind choosing one partner here..like if you really like one of the girls more, even though you are still seeing others on the side which then boils down to whether you are willing to sacrifice other flings just to be with her or not. ..
There were two ways for DPC to go through with the choice, the arbitrary choice point or a staggering choice over a number of episodes.

The way I see it, the end of episode 8 was the point where Jill would demand exclusivity, which is why DPC put the choice there. If it was more realistic Jill would have given Fuckface the ultimatum rather than Fuckface having the breakfast discussion. The issue would be that most players without multiple playthroughs would reject Jill straight away at that point. M/J haven't yet decided they want to add strings to the relationship because they have bigger things to worry about with Maya's tuition situation however if that gets resolved with the Burkes then they'd be the next to force Fuckface's hand. Bella would probably live with the situation longer because Fuckface dating other girls helps keep their relationship more secret but I guess her jealousy would eventually rise high enough for her to tell Fuckface that in order for her to continue with the relationship it would have to be exclusive as it's not worth her risking her job just to be one of Fuckface's many girls. That would then leave Sage who it seems would be happy with the fuckbuddy relationship for an extended period of time and probably wouldn't push Fuckface to be more serious until she was deciding what to do as she leaves college.

While the above would be more realistic Sage's popularity with the playerbase means that most players with single playthroughs would finish the game with Sage or remain single (if there's any time to spend with side girls after Sage wants to get serious) because they like Sage and want to maximise their choice through their playthrough without committing to the single relationship. DPC wants to maximise the amount of playthroughs players do so this would make no sense to him.

For example if the choice at episode 8 was get serious with Jill or keep all other options open, how many people in this thread would bother with Jill? Only those who want to get all scenes, the majority in this thread care little for Jill and would be happy just to cut her storyline for season 2. Probably the same when the throuple fork happens in episode 10 or 11, more would probably stay with Bella in ep 13/14 but the vast majority would keep options open with Sage and others until her fork happens.
Although some people have often said the choice was forced (I mean you wanna start saying that, the mc was "forced" to take a shower in episode 1...), but his thoughts and the situation had been progressively leading up to the decision.

In episode 4, the whole situation with Maya and Josy where the mc found out about them shook him. He took almost the entire episode to get over it, because of the the lying and the cheating (the girls didn't cheat on him, they cheated on each other).

In episode 6 there's that funny scene in the library when the mc panics when all the girls start to converge on him at the study table:

mc "Study!"

These are all girls he's been fooling around with, and now they are getting to know each other. Any sane man would know this is a recipe for danger!

Later in episode 6, if he goes on the picnic with Jill, he acknowledges he's falling for her and considers himself a "piece of shit" for still fucking others. His thoughts were:

mc "(I've played the field without realizing I'm getting close to more than one girl...)"
mc "(I need to figure myself out before this leads to anyone getting hurt...)"

Sage's relationship with Chad ended because of cheating.

In episode 8, after the recital the mc he admits that he never expected all these girls he's been messing around with the become friends.

With Sage, all along they've been fuck buddies, but she's free now, and their relationship looks to be getting more serious. The last thing the mc should do is start that off while cheating on her.

Deep down the mc is a good guy. DIK or Chick, he's not an asshole. But his new found confidence and reputation at college has thrust him into a world of sex that he was not used to (as we know, he was a shy loner in the past, his only relationship was with another misfit - Zoey).

He kinda got lost in the sea of girls that was flowing his way, but he's been progressively more retrospective as the relationships go deeper, culminating into his deliberating at the crossroads of episode 8.

It's not that it doesn't make sense that the mc decided to make a decision at this point in his life, it's just that people are looking at the clock going:

dfb1ea45-5180-4e20-9b74-5d3657a33a22_text.gif

i still can't believe we got blue balled so long just for Jill to give it up so easily.
She either gave it up easily, or she took ages to give it up? You're saying both. Which one is it? :p

It's kinda realistic though. A lot of girls don't fuck on first dates (or 3rd dates). They wanna know the relationship is serious before they do that. And unlike porn games, girls don't progress the physical shit like this:

Date1: Hugging
Date2: Holding hands
Date3: Kissing
Date4: Makeout session
Date5: Groping tits
Date6: Handjob
Date7: Titjob
Date8: Blowjob
Date9: Thighjob
Date10: 69
Date11: Vaginal sex
Date12: Anal sex
Date13: Ass to mouth

That's just done like that to drag shit out in a game. When a girl is ready to fuck, she's ready to fuck.
