It has to be a fan art. The quality is really too low, I don't think DPC makes such LQ renderings nowadays. Her hair is so wrong, defying gravity, her leg is unnaturally deformed, her arm too. The lights look not so accurate. I know DPC is not perfectionist in his renderings but this is really too low quality for his standards. Probably a fan made it and it was used in Discord, that's why it was not released as a preview or in an official post.

The bit about Maya (in episode 5) being open to no strings attached after the throuple was formed: That was like at the end of the second week of college. He'd literally only known Maya for two weeks, so committing to her and Josy at that point would have been a little premature.

Normally I'd agree with you, but normal rules just won't cut it when you ask two girls to form a throuple with you. At that point I think you either take the combined relationship seriously or you ask for a threesome and expect nothing further. Obviously the M&J path isn't interested in a quick threesome so I was rather surprised when I realized DPC expected the MC to be throupling "casually."

Granted, this is not a problem I've had to deal with in real life (much less when I was still in college), but I like to think I'd have handled it with at least a smidgeon of foresight if it had.

You'll have to refresh my memory about the conflict between Jill and Bella in episode 7. If you're talking about Bella calling her naïve and all that, I didn't see that as a big deal, otherwise Bella was just trying to help Jill minimise the pain of dating Tybalt in that episode (and timewise, both of them had only known the mc for 4 or 5 weeks at that point).

I'm referring to the doubles tennis. The MC will work with Bella to help save Jill from Tybalt, then go right back to pressuring Bella to give up the goods (ugh), then decide to climb Jill's balcony that night to declare his undying love. I'm sorry, but even Quinn's denial couldn't repel a hint of that magnitude. If the implications of that day didn't prompt the MC to introspect, there's no way he'd be phased by Bella giving Jill a hug after her stage debut.

I can't really sugar-coat the Sage drama. The mc was happy to fuck her while she was angry that her boyfriend was cheating on her, and the mc even kept hinting that she should dump Chad and move on. Then he goes all rebound snowflake when she and Chad are over.

The only thing that gives the rebound reaction any traction is that it wasn't Sage who did the dumping; in the end Chad dumped her and she took it hard, and then she wanted to jump into the mc's arms. This wasn't the scenario the mc was looking for.

Maybe I kinda get it even... If Sage had dumped Chad for the mc, that would be a positive. But Sage only got interested in a relationship with the mc after she got dumped. Rebound alarm bells!

Looking at that scene, right before they start sparring, the mc says to Sage:

mc: "I understand what you went through...or what you're going through."​

mc: "Break-ups are tough."​

So when Sage starts kissing him and looking to get physical after the sparring session, the mc is like, "Hang on, you probably need to take step back, I'm not just here as second best after Chad dumps you..."

So yeah, it wasn't what the reader wanted right then and there, but was it ridiculous that the mc behaved that way? Not really...

Well, that's certainly a valiant effort. I salute you!

And regarding all the casual sex, as long as it was casual, the mc didn't have a problem with it. At the crossroads the mc was more concerned about the more-than-casual relationships. He knew he wasn't hurting the likes of Mel, Sarah, Riona, Cammy etc by randomly hooking up with them. But he was concerned with hurting the girls that he was getting in too deep with. And that also works with taking the "others" option. He didn't want to get into a serious relationship with any of the girls, so he chose path that lead away from that.

Fair enough, and had DPC done a more consistent job of showing the LIs suffering under the lack of decision I could go along with it. But as is I don't think that was well conveyed. The LIs had too many scenes where they didn't seem concerned by the competition, and some of the side-girls (most obviously Nicole) seemed a little to into the MC to believe they'd shrug it off if he ended things.

The idea is valid, but the execution was lacking.

And regarding the mc's panicked response to Sage's parents being the Burkes. Even the most benign path is complicated (i.e. he was on the receiving end of Jade's very unprofessional behaviour towards him - basically sexual harassment if it was unwanted). So the mc panicked, sure, he hadn't done anything wrond, but doesn't make it any less awkward.

Sorry, not buying this for a second. The MC has been dealing with Jade for a full season after he rejected her - including when she caught him at the ANO party. She obviously has no love for him, but she also obviously doesn't have any axe to grind. The idea that the MC was afraid of Jade is patently ridiculous, an after-the-fact explanation attempting to justify DPC's unforgivable laziness.

And Zoey. This is the best time for her to arrive and fuck shit up! I'm happy for shit to get real.

No, this is definitely the worst time for Zoey to return, but I'm sure no one wants me to rehash that argument yet again. Let's agree to disagree.

My opinion is definitely stemmed from the fact that I don't care specifically about any of the LIs. I mean, I enjoy all their content, but it's not like I'm hanging out for the continuation or enhancement of any relationships in particular. I'm just enjoying the ride.

I can respect that attitude, but I still think there were better routes to use for this ride.

My reading of that is, it's both girls (especially Maya) who don't want to immediately start a serious relationship with some boy they've really known for very short time and who potentially fucked each of them behind the other's back. They like him enough to want to give this a try, but whatever attachment there is at this point, it's on very surface level compared to the pairing they have. The MC is being put on probation so to speak, and it's his behavior while he's said to have a free reign, that's ultimately going to decide whether this evolves into something more.

the problem is not panic, but that the reaction is identical from a situation of simple surprise to that of preamble to a nuclear disaster. react in the same way when faced with a burned-out dinner or one's house on fire with the family inside. if this is not laziness...

DPC itself then tries to patch it up in the interlude by modulating the reaction.

By the way, who do you think is some sort of Leah reincarnation in BADIK and what are your reasons for thinking so?
I bet on Jade. Alfred the Fallen made a guess about Magnar. Somebody definitely spies on Tremolo - remember that creepy night scene with flickering lampposts in Ep6.

Jade wanted to expel Chad back in Ep 3 and went angry when Stephen sided with Cathy in the end. If you give away Chad's secret to Sage in Ep8, she says "Mom [Jade] was right". It appears Jade has known Chad's secret the whole time. Yet, blackmailing the jocks makes no sense for Stephen and Quinn as it can jeopardize their illegal business.

I suspect it was more along the lines of Sage trying to confide her relationship trouble and Jade suggesting that maybe he's not interested in Sage because he's gay.
