EDIT: While I had a chance to chat a little to DPC and OCEAN(Summer's Gone and WIAB creator), DPC really hates this site, mods and criticism later on. I was banned twice on DPC's Discord xD

Ocean on the other hand is the kind of developer that would drink a pint of beer with the fans. Ocean has another issue, he's a perfectionist, so he re-worked his games, and I mean COMPLETELY change them.
But all the drama aside, I respect them both all the same. His approach aside, DPC delivers a game that keeps me hooked, makes me laugh and is rich enough for me to warrant to play it many times over for different paths and affinities.
Only a sith deals in absolutes. There are things DPC should be criticize for but he delivers

Damn DPC is pretty savage, don't really understand how can you hate something that doesn't affect you in any way, besides this site is also promoting his game and it encourages people to support him even though it's a pirate website.

I play games from Ocean too, both Summer's Gone and WIAB, gems from this website and i know he is very chill with his fans, very self conscious when comes to his games content.
I would guess It's an issue of our human brains being weird. If DPC see's it as affecting him, then it does. Whether or not it's the reality or even logical. I mean without this site I wouldn't know about any of these games so I agree with you 100%. I can however imagine the stress/toll the "perceived" problems could have on someone. Legit criticism is seen as hating in someone else eyes right?

stoopid monkie brayn.

How do you get this scene? Or should I say how do you get on the Quinn path to get this scene?
Have to be on DIK path, have done Quinn's sex scenes (at MC's room and at Quinn's room) and not be on Jill's path.

Good catch!
God damn it, this game has so many well placed hidden details.

IIRC, if you get here, you can't be at the dinner date as well, correct?
Well I'll be damned, nice catch. Didn't focus on the pair myself tbh.
Actually, someone in the Reddit group pointed this out but damn at the party I even forgot about it. LOL
Since we meet both Matthew and Olivia at the dinner table before episode 9, we could have known about this affair since last year. Damn, got to watch like a hawk everything in the Halloween party now

It's even more stupid knowing that he has an account here so he most likely visit this place from time to time and sees how appreciated his game is, hell it's one of the top games, how can you even hate that?

I play games from Ocean too, both Summer's Gone and WIAB, gems from this website and i know he is very chill with his fans, very self conscious when comes to his games content.
It is what it is. This site does promote him and garners him more fans, but most developers go on from it due to toxicity.
And seeing how they are all doing things pretty much solo, I guess I can't blame someone for deciding what eco system he needs.

At the end of the day, DPC delivers and I enjoy the product. Even if I got banned twice(not perma, I'm still there), I'll always support him and his products. Without a friend recommending me AL, and me having enjoyed AL(even more so due to the twist), I'd never have discovered this entire genre and site.

So I take DPC with the good and the bad, and as a customer, I'm still happy with the result.

There was one comment with the MC with someone, I don't remember, where she said there was some people screwing if you were paying attention and I was like "Ok, I need to replay this paying more attention" :KEK:

Why would you say this site?

It's not even the piracy(he did post early on), it promotes modding, something DPC really REALLY dislikes.
He bans people on Discord that help others get unstuck via mods and so on.
Right, i get it (i think?)
But I'm asking if we're ASSUMING he hates this website? or are these just conclusions we're drawing from pieces of data that could also lead to other conclusions.

For me this game was like a therapy, I've known about it since 2020 when my friend recommended it to me during the quarntine time of early covid around April 2020. Only in 2022 after I had covid and sufferd from some consequnces and after hospitlization I played the game when I was down both physiclly and emotionlly. This game brought a smile to my face and helped me get better, it was a nostalgia trip.

Well, BaDIK at all is one of the best AVN, that's for sure. But this episode should be a masterpiece? Nah, I can't agree with that. You suggest "the longest freeroam" is a good thing. No, it's not. I understand why DPC have done this, because it's the easiest way to drench all branches together in one point and it's much easier now to go on with the story. But as a player it's annoying because you have to waste a lot of time with clicking around to get the next little piece of the story. I like freeroams. I do. But only if they're well dosed. In Ep9 it's way too much. For me Ep8 was hardly the boundary and now he breaks it.

The best animations might be. I know other AVN's with animations as good as these. But all those devs haven't the time and the financial background like DPC does. So that's something I expect from DPC. He has the time and the money to do so. Besides that it's not all that good. Many animations are too long or wasn't necissary. This genre is called Visual NOVEL. A novel is all about the story. My favourite VN is "One Day at a Time". The graphics aren't as good as in VN's like BaDIK, Summer's Gone or Chasing Sunsets. But the story is really good. So yes, we need good graphics in VN's but it's by far not the main point to rate a VN.

You mentioned the story. Well, which story? In Ep9 the story haven't really continued. We had the meeting with the Burke's, there was the thing with Zoey and a little bit Quinn/Tommy/Vinnie drama. The rest is only the drench of the branches and a little bit bonding in all relationships. Every episode before had a way more story content.

Was it worth to wait so long? This depends on how you define "worth". If I had paid 25 bucks eight months to get this I would be really pissed. 200 Bucks for this small content? Oh hell... Again: it's a visual novel not a porno movie. The content has to be the story presented with nice graphics and not some animations interrupted from some free roams and little dialogue parts.

Yes, BaDIK is a good VN to me. That's why I'm here and that's why I'm writing as much as I do the last days. But this episode is by far NOT the best episode of BaDIK. At the moment I'm unsure if it's the worst of all or the second worst. However, I don't think my opinion will interest DPC. Especially since it can't even reach him in the first place. He only goes where you lick his saliva. Criticism, no matter how fair and objective it may be, he cannot bear. He doesn't even take that criticism. Everything was different with him, but unfortunately DPC has changed a lot. His success hasn't done him any good as a person.
I've been wondering for a while why Episode 9 has this structure. To do this, I had to look back and remember past Episodes. And I'm back to Episode 5. In the game system I noticed, the first episode of the new season closes the main story arc of the previous Season and offers the player a new serious challenge.
When I talk about the main story arc, I mean the main arc - not Bella, Maya/Josy, Quinn and other characters that we are very interested in. I mean the Main Character arc. In the first season, this arc was joining the DIK fraternity, which was closed in Episode 5 during the Preps party. Throwing eggs at Tybalt was a kind of conclusion to this story arc. The main challenge of Season 2 we received in Episode 5 is the destruction of our mansion.
Also, the main story arc of Season 2 for our Tremolo was the search for an answer to the question - "Who am I?". The MC finally forms its views on life and decides with which girl to reduce its fate, or even remain alone. And what about Episode 9? The same summing up the results of the MC arc from Season 2. We see the consequences of the decisions made for ourselves (in matters of relations with girls) and we see how official relations begin with our LI. Or we get drama if we were an asshole and dated all the girls. Season 2 arc closed.
That is, Episode 9 behaves the same as Episode 5 in terms of game structure, and even throws up a new main challenge - Vinny. And then I understand that Vinny will be a very big problem. Plus, Episode 9 did a very good job of introducing the new character. Zoey performance was breathtaking.
And really, what's the best way to sum up the MC story arc and his relationship with the girls? This is a grand party that has been talked about for so long and that many have been waiting for. The DPC did a good job in this regard - he collected as many characters as possible(Hello-hello, DLC Citadel from Mass Effect 3), and even came up with the representation of girls who were out of place there - for example, Isabella. Like narration, humor, dialogues, events, musical accompaniment, scenes - this is really the coolest party. I've always wanted to see what a big party would look like, but here the DPC overdid it a bit and didn't please a lot of people. I thought that it would take about 50% of the episode, but it turned out to be about 75-80%. And as a result, people who do not like free roams and want to continue the story as soon as possible rated it low. Although in my opinion it does not deserve a low rating, it is rather an emotional reaction of people who did not get what they expected - like the canonical Being a DIK, Episode 9 turned out to be very good, losing a bit to the masterpiece Ep.7 and 8.
Episode 9 gives a very different vibe - if in the above episodes I could shed a tear, then here I laughed more and caught the mood from Season 1, which was light and fun. A small advance along the story paths did not bother me - I understand that this Episode is the calm before the storm and is more about relaxing the player.
My personal criticism is that the party really could have been a bit smaller, and the three free roams are diluted with big flashbacks from previous events to give players a bit of a break from the sandbox. As a gameplay mechanic, it's not well implemented.
Also, something else bothered me. The lack of a full scene with Riona, although the last one was in Episode 7. This is a little unfair. And the rather strange storyline of the Jill arc, it feels like the DPC is trolling the player. But this is rather a subjective opinion and such things are simply "not my thing."
Was Episode 9 a masterpiece?:
no.JPG
But was this Episode bad? Also no. It was definitely a unique gameplay experiment. but I hope it's a one-off, because in the future he needs to really focus on the story.
This is my final review after 8 playthroughs. I know it was a very long essay. And if you get bored reading all this tedious writing, here's a fun pic for bored readers:

Looking back and summing up all the episodes, I rate them like this:
Episode 1 - 8.5
Episode 2 - 9
Episode 3 - 9.5
Episode 4 - 10
Episode 5 - 8
Episode 6 - 9
Episode 7 - 10
Episode 8 - 10
Interlude - 7
Episode 9 - 8.5

You are entitled to your feelings, but I stand by mine.
So you can edit my message all you want, haha.

It's more than assuming, but I don't wanna go deeper on that subject tbh.
I'm gonna enjoy the chill vibes here xD

I started playing when Episode 3 was released I think. Than I went on a longer pause, and played again when 6 came out. But I get you, similar feeling here. Pandemic and F95 mashed together nicely xD

This is the kind of attention to details that makes me question if i pay enough attention to this game.
In the images, Bella is congratulating Jill about her relationship with the MC.
On the left, Bella and MC were in a relationship and he chose Jill at the end of E8, on the right, no previous relationship

Yeah I notice that in my playthrough.
The attention to details is amazing in this game, specially in the last update.

Well, you can find DrPinkCake in a jacuzzi with a few bottles of champagne since the release.

His patrons went from 11000 to 15000 after ep. 9 release. Let's wait for January for the aftermath count ( = how people welcomed the episode).
I enjoyed the episode but cancelled my subscription, cancelling doesn't always mean you didn't like it

Walkthrough Update

Here is my walkthrough for Being A DIK.
It includes all free roams, scenes, secret renders and pack quest location.

It took me longer to work on this update alone than it takes me for some other full games. Like the update or not, there is no denying the amount of content DPC includes in a single episode.
