Folks are a cost, and to hire folks you don't just need money: you need to be a charismatic person with management skills.

You need to be willing to delegate, and thus to accept that nobody in the world is going to do something in the exact same way you would have done it.

Let's say that DPC has many other qualities...
To be fair the art of delegating is either innate or very hard to master, first trick is to pick the right folks from the get go (which is a challange on its own).

Personally it took me decades to learn how to properly delegate, and only did it due to "circumstances". like it's impossible to run a big team without being able to delegate, then you realize that spending evenings and weekends working on something someone else would be able to do better than sleep deprived you... :HideThePain:

Sorry went again personal.

The funny thing is DPC keeps complaining about how he doesn't want to share previews because of the spoilers, but he spoiled every single big lewd scenes for MGs with those Steam previews :KEK:

are-they-though.jpg

Or is DPC pissing himself laughing for putting out these random renders that will not be scenes?

While Simpworld is going crazy with anticipation, are they just rewards or dreams or photos or fantasies or Jacob's improved artwork?

I think DPC can afford folks but he just don't wanna.
This is basically it. He has a vision, he enjoys the work and wants to do it himself.

Time is also a cost. Most often you pay for time. DPC wouldn't have time or money to make a game like Being a DIK without support. Sure, now he has enough money but people chose to continue to support him, nobody forces them.
I don't know and never interacted with him, but just my silly 2cents

  1. The cost of competent people can be staggering.
  2. If you don't get competent people the quality will decrese exponentially the more you add to the project.
  3. Delegating part of your creative process can be good, but also removes a lot of agency on your own project, some understandably don't like it.
All this to say, nobody forces anyone to pay for DPCs development time (patreon, etc..) the proof is that we are on this site which besides marketing (important) doesn't provide any direct benefit to him.

All it takes is to be patient, or not and move on.
Very true.
2. A certain other college VN is proof of that.
Actually, sister/brother's husband/wife is also in-law.

I can relate.

Personally I would never delegate anything. What's the point in having no boss to tell me what to do and how to do it, if I have to accept that part of the work is done by someone who is not me, and even if better than me he would do it his way, not my way?

I'm not self employed because I don't have the needed skills.

If I were self employed I'd definitely be a solo player, just as DPC is.

That's the point. He has support.

So he can be a solo player. Why would he accept the inevitable compromises that come with a team if he has the resources to do it his way? :WeSmart:

Glad you like them. I actually have Isabella on my backlog to do next...Currently experimenting with some banner designs with her and trying to find the right render to base the design off of.

Definitely gonna take a look at Sage and Riona next (y) Especially the former, as I have a thing for readheads :devilish:

I end up watering those friggin plants in 90% of my playthroughs, and in most also painting the fence... Bella is love
Is it really a Bella playthrough if you don't water those flowers? Do you really love her if you don't paint her fence? Can you call yourself a man if you don't make the perfect fluffy pancakes?

The answer is no.
