But the key is precisely thatNote that it only applies to new subscribers from November 2024 - so no existing subscribers will have to pay more and therefore it's not likely to equate to a loss of subs. It will though potentially stop some new ones from signing up (unless they know they can skip the extra 30% by just not using Apple's platform to sign up).

(Many comment on this forum are the proof that in any crowd at least 20% don't read the instructiosn that are in plain sight... let alone if they bother to google something that Apple has not interest in advertising - like how to pledge on Patreon without giving 30% to Apple.)
And even for those who know it, it's a little bit more complicated to use another platform to sign up other than the one they are used to.
So, anyway it is more income for Apple (for doing basically nothing - 30% is a out of this world commission! Would you accept it on your credit card?) and a potential loss of new subscribers for the creators.
