Stupidity does run rampant. Jacob calls for the dik's secret code to wipe it from everybody's memories but not wipe it from the laptop.

If Stephen has seen the tape, he gives you an extra look of recognition during the scene where everyone is introduced before dinner. That frame isn't in the scene if he hasn't seen the tape.
Does he really? Man haven't played that "route" since my 1st playthrough, might be worth checking.
Dammi I was able to avoid Spock guilting me into a new playthyrough but it's becoming more and more difficult

A new thought occurs to me that having access to the laptop might not be necessary. The video is on MC's phone. His old phone to be precise. Stephen only gets the video if the DIKs see it, but it may simply be that the culprit only knows to look for it because of that. So where is MC's old phone?
Jamie's phone

I think if MC refuses to tell Derek about Jade, the next thing he thought was "I'm going to delete this video" (check in-game - that's for sure). So I think the game is making it clear that the video won't leak anywhere in this case. It's assumed that he deletes the video.

Oh yes that's a fact if the MC doesn't share the information then deletes it and the interactions will be different.
Jade and Stephen will still have the same conversation, but rather than blackmailing her with the video Stephen just weasels it out.

To be completely honest I think the whole vibe at the dinner hits right IF there was any kind of interaction with Jade (leaked or not), so I found it a bit jarring when Tremolo was sweating it out at the realization of who Jade was in a playthrough where I had NO interaction with her at all (except her very first approach).

without interaction with Jade the high point is when MC fails to have sex with Sage because he thinks Tybalt is her brother....

What I meant is, the scene when he gets "cold shivers" and starts panicking is there always, and unless one has interacted with Jade all that's left are the interactions with Sage, and I don't know why one should "panic" that way.

I completely agree with you.

that panic served to close the chapter and the season with a twist that however, at least for many runs, wasn't there at all. this led him later to have to tread lightly even in the case of an honest relationship with Sage.

if DPC had used Zoey's phone call it would have been 100 times better

DPK really needs to hire people. There's no reason development needs to take this long with the amount of success this game has
It's very risky to do that. I know a VN developer who did that to speed up the development of his game, it didn't end good. The quality went to shit and he went from 7000 patreons to less than 1300.
Right. I thought it might be, but wasn't sure. I'd call it easily accessible for anyone who knows about the video. Much easier than the laptop that is kept in the safe after the Cathy cluck.
Very true. Unless it's one of the DIKs. They get to use the laptop. It's only locked in when not being used.
It's obvious that Stephen got it from the laptop.
Proberbly. But the phone is a possibility. It's unguarded.
It's quite possible. It's logical to assume that the target of the surveillance is Rusty.
And Tommy is the first person Rusty became close with upon arriving at B&R.
And Heather's "Will Tommy get in trouble?" has always made me suspicious. Could be that Tommy wants to be President. He and Rusty are supposed to be very close but we never really see that so maybe they aren't any longer and maybe Tommy thinks he can do better. It happens soon after Chad loses his position as President of the Alphas so maybe Tommy got the idea form that?
Or was it Heather? There was sex noises from the room before it happened. Did she find Tommy with someone else and decided to take revenge out of anger but then regretted it?
I still believe that Jill's father is behind all of this.
Perhaps B&R College has been a kind of hidden brothel for influential people since its inception.
I never thought about that. Interesting idea.

Sorry, fell asleep last night.
I have an idea that these leaks are the work of different groups with different goals.

Or maybe this video was hard to use at that time to hurt DIKs. After all, from that angle we only see Jade fucking a guy and we don't see his face (only Jade's hair in the frame gives her away).
Cathy cluck was the perfect bomb: a published pic with comments from the DIK account, the perfect setup. It's harder to use Jade leak here to target DIKs, but it's perfect to target Jade.
But Stephen has a reaction to the MC at the dinner if he got the video. So he obviously knows.
it would have been a very risky move on Tommy's part.

if Rusty had been expelled the DIKs would have ended and he would have become president of nowhere
Tommy's not exactly the kind of person who thinks things through. Or maybe he had a plan to take it over with Quinn? If so, was Quinn in on it? Or maybe a pissed off Heather did it after finding Tommy with some other girl in Rusty's room but later regretted it?
We don't know Tommy's true motivation. But we can guess.
Does the presidency mean much to him?
Do the DIKs mean much to him?
Perhaps it's nothing to him.
He could have been promised a college degree regardless of his academic performance.
And perhaps further career advancement.
Very true. Maybe he thought he could run the DIKs with Quinn? They just made a deal to use the DIK mansion as their drug-and-party central.
Oh yes that's a fact if the MC doesn't share the information then deletes it and the interactions will be different.

Well, Jade made some advances towards the MC and he turned her down. She was pissed and even threatened him. I would say things were not good between him and Jade.

But the Jade video isn't in it at the time.

Vinny is definitely a suspicious guy, but unless he set up spyware in the laptop, he can't be the guy who gave the Jade video to Stephen. And I really doubt Vinny is that good with tech.

The vibe I get from Vinny is that he is too impulsive for elaborate plans. If he is involved, he is an underling.
spyware in the laptop is the most likely scenario regardless of who is the culprit.

And that makes the question, who would know how to do that?
IDK how the sandbox fits in the lore, but Fuckface sells notes to the nerds, that theoretically should not need them. They probably sell them, or exchange them with the Jocks and others. The nerds are probably selling their talents.

Also, Sally is always at the parties since the game started, it might be red herring, or it might be a hint, we will have to see.

This is just my head plugging up the plot holes, but the dinner reaction just makes way more sense if it's about Jade regardless of how you play. Even if you minimize everything with Jade she will be the woman scorned and hell hath no fury...

Tybalt is just an easy excuse to tell Sage. I mean the other option is "your mom tried to give me a handy in class". Girlfriend, former fuck buddy or just normal friend that is not something you tell a girl.

Jade did sexually harass the MC in class, so sure, but his reaction is still

Heather? No, I don't think so.
A banal revenge for adultery, of which there were many, is too weak a plot device.
Why do I think that Jill's father is behind it all...
At the beginning of the game, we see Jill explaining some rules to us.
This suggests that the author singles her out from all the main girls.
Why does he do this?
Probably because she is a kind of key character in the story, besides MC, and perhaps she's part the culmination of the story. We all see Jill as a well-mannered, kind-hearted girl, who nevertheless firmly adheres to her moral principles.
What might her reaction be if she finds out that her parents, who have been an example for her all her life, are not as noble and decent as she thought of them?
This could be a good dramatic turn in this story.

If it does turn out to be nerds, it would be a very bad scripted move in the vein of a Heavy Rain game. There's not a single indirect hint in the game that nerds are involved except for Sally's partying. The fact that we're pointing to nerds is more like guessing than stating facts. We don't have the facts of nerd guilt.

DPС is taking advantage of the rail dramatics in the game. Most choices in the game don't make sense, they are illusory and the plot follows a strictly planned route no matter what choices the player makes.
It doesn't make sense whether you fucked Jade or not, you'll still have drama with her and MC will wake up in a cold sweat at the thought of Jade being her mother.
All the choices that are there are essentially decorative and localized and only affect whether you fuck this or that girl, which essentially has little effect on the global plot.

Imagine that if it was like in the previous years, updates, we'd by now, be on our 100th jerking off to the LI we liked in the new update, but because of a certain someone, some of you still have to replay the old scenes to get off. lol.
