Welcome to the brotherhood, I sure hope you don't mind waiting lol
About the Maya movie date, that actually happened in EP 10 if you choose to hangout with her and not Josy btw.
I was wondering if I should point that out, but you beat me to it. It got stuck in my head. "Did they not play season 3 yet. Should I avoid spoiling it. But, they mentioned Josy's pillow fort..."
Oh? I was so over Maya at that point I hard leaned into Josy. Part of the reason I liked maya was the horror movies lol.
I was wondering how you missed it, but if you simply just stopped checking Maya's content you can't really complain about her being boring. There are legit complaints to be made about Maya and also about Josy, but you have to see it all before you can judge.
Maya's family drama is the longest running plot thread in the game. People have called it the main plot of the game. This isn't true. Jill's problems with Tybalt got a lot of attention and so did Sage's break up with Chad. But those threads had a lot of activity and have had their climaxes even if they aren't completely done where Maya's has just dragged out. On the other hand considering the nature of these dramas they have actually developed quite naturally. Sage's and Jill's dramas were more immediate than Maya's.
An even bigger difference, however, is MC's ability to take action. You can directly do something with Sage's and Jill's situations and it goes somewhere. With Maya we only got to do something in the last episode and the results were left hanging on the cliff. Even if the events themselves are railroaded it is more satisfying when the protagonist can take direct action with the problem. With Sage MC does a lot compared to what he does with Jill and it is a lot more satisfying. You are more of an emotional support for Jill, but it still goes somewhere. The problem is dealt with. It is still satisfying. With Maya you are stuck being supportive and the problem isn't solved. You are just helping her cope. Not satisfying.
By contrast Bella's drama is also slow and mostly you only get to be supportive, but there are results. Support is exactly what Bella needs. She had lost hope and you give her a new chance. She is moving on and healing because of the way you support her, not simply coping. The difference to Maya is massive.
But one MG is even worse than Maya and that's Josy. With Maya we aren't getting a harvest. With Josy the seeds haven't even sprouted. She is on bad terms with her step-brother, but barely anything happens. She is on bad terms with both her mother and step-mother and we haven't even met either of them. It's clear that the problems are there and they weigh on her, but Maya's are so much bigger that she shuts up about them, which is natural but as a result we are left in the dark. We don't even get to be supportive. At the moment Josy's drama is dealing with Maya's drama. It is the most unsatisfying of all.
But I have hope! Ep 10 ending has two branches regardless of path. You get the documents or you fail. What I speculate is that Josy centric drama is about to drop on us. If you got the documents it's like J&M just can't get a break, but this time it's Maya's turn to be supportive and they will pull through. If you didn't get the documents Josy's drama is the last straw and they break up.
Why isn't it March already?
