I think it is impossible for episode 12 to be released before December 2026.
Then he'll be the first to make 2 year old updates the new standard, lol.
Actually everything that's going on in AVN right now with release windows is his fault. It used to be considered normal to release episodes every 2-3 months. Yes, there was Icstor, but it was hated and hated by everyone. Now DPC made it standard to update once a year and most developers followed suit because they saw that he got nothing for it.
If DPC will not do anything for year and a half and two year updates, then all other authors will do the same.
Imagine waiting 2 years for the release of a new chapter of Eternum, lol. Simply because DPC is doing exactly the same thing.

Today's update will be short, which is good because we're at the end of the development cycle.

I've been play-testing for the better part of the week. I am now focusing on continuity and replaying the entire game, Episodes 1-11, during my tests. I will make a couple of playthroughs like this in the upcoming week, and it's pretty time-consuming as the game grows bigger.

I've also been taking some time to write content for episode 12 and write the code for the remaining mini-games in Season 3.

I checked the render speed of the animation queue today, and February 7-9 still stands as the completion date. Beta testing will commence shortly thereafter and beta testers have been alerted.

I will post a preliminary changelog for you next Friday and release the final preview of episode 11 before that.

Have a nice weekend

Yeah I get that and I'm ultimately the same. Far too many of these games get a pass for being ridiculous, but ultimately people need to remember they are AVNs at the end of the day... The clue to what they are is in the N. If you were reading it in the standard paperback format alot of people wouldn't get passed the 1st chapter. Drama, actions, consequences are still needed to drive the story forward. Just because you're telling it in a 3D way does not give you a pass to do whatever.
Nailed it!

I mean he is a one dev working on a game that multi branches based on the girl you picked and based on a certain affinity path and based on several decisions.

There has to be, there's no reason to play from the start otherwise.
I mean if you've done his check throughout the development it just becomes redundant after a while that is to say if he went through 1-8 just to make sure everything works as long as 9 worked with 8, he's golden. As long as 10 worked with 9 again golden.

He has to be looking for something specific here seeing if the choice carries through and the result displayed.
It could be something like the stealing of money in Jill's room way back in Episode 3 had a potential strain to put on the relationship many episodes later (can't remember if it's Ep. 9 or 10). When a variable sits dormant like that without being used, it can be hard to remember how to code it and wasn't checked to make sure it still worked out correctly in the current Episode where it comes into play.

Not sure if you'd have to play through the entire episode to check it (I'm not a coder, so I don't know if you change variables willy nilly in the code while playtesting to just check that one thing or not), but he is a perfectionist, so even if he could, I'm guessing he'd want the full experience to make sure something else doesn't affect it.

It could even be like the case of telling the dude to join chess club, which carried few a few episodes for a laugh.

But I see no reason to play through the entire thing unless you're specifically looking for something you did earlier.

I don't like the part where he writes about replaying it from the start lol. I hope there won't be a choice that will be that crucial that you need to replay it way from the start.:HideThePain:

The first thing that comes to mind and that can affect your relationship with your girls, which happened already in the first episode, is accepting Quinn's proposal.
Probably the second is whether or not to beat up Troy.
Maybe the news that the MC is banging girls and paying them to do it could potentially upset for example Maya who hates Quinn. And then there's Sage.
Maybe the fact that you didn't fight Troy will cause Chad to become your ally.
Overall, it feels like the game is at the “gathering allies” stage, which happens in all final chapters of all games before the final battle.

It's probably that some early game foreshadowing is about to manifest and he needs to make sure that you can't play in a way that skips the foreshadowing, yet has MC acting like it happened.

Maybe we will run into Steve when we visit Neil and those ep 1 choices matter again.

If this is indeed why he feels the need to replay the lot, I think it'll likely more to be in regards to the restaurant closing its doors and continuity issues there as that seems to stretch a great deal over the game...

Could be both. And whole lot of others on top of them. The examples aren't mutually exclusive.

Didn't this mfer make a big deal before last Q&A about doing the minigames code so going forward the rest of S3 he just copy and pastes it? Is he again (shocking) bullshitting the paypigs? :HideThePain:
I'm guessing what he means by that is either getting the minigames of Ep 12 set with new stuff, i.e. new English answers and science test as well as the next party planning and anything else that needs new levels like Brawler, or it's the first hint at a new minigame or minigames for Ep 12.

I don't think he necessarily ruled out no new minigames ever, just that Ep 11 wouldn't have any.

Or it could even be that DPC's written some little things for some characters, like expositional stuff, that he has to make sure he either hasn't revealed before or doesn't change something he wrote before.
