I think we can all agree, we hope the "loan" storyline ends. Enough is Enough! I have had it with these motherfucking loan storyline in this motherfucking game!

Guys, I think I figured it out.

The documents aren't a student loan. That's just a ruse from Patrick in desperate attempt to get Maya to have kids before it's too late. Not too late for Helen to see her grand child (heck, Derek might have already solved that) ... but too late for Maya to have them because she has the same disease as Helen. The documents are the medical test that shows her diagnosis. Patrick's devastation that Maya also has it turned to anger and abuse towards her (and not Derek). There will be no throuple ending because Maya won't make it to graduation. DPC loves his drama ...

I agree to some extent.
Personally I think things are going to go to hell in ep 11, where Helen dies, Patrick loses hope, and while he goes through the life insurance paperwork, he discovers that Maya's binder is missing (if MC successfully got them, if he didn't leave it to DPC to figure that one out) and figures out where they might have gone after figuring out they vanished after Derek brought his scum friends over for thanksgiving. Then checks the cars' GPS info to see where Derek drove off too and from that, is why I think it's Patrick that breaks into Bella's house and causes a scene by wanting to grab Maya away and beat up the MC.

Where at the prep party you tell Derek you have feelings for either Josy or Maya.... if all the game path events align....whomever you do not pick.....an event happens where they leave the game permanently....or better yet...get a job at the Pink Rose.

This last bit might break the theory. Example: you say you have feelings for Josy...much later if game path events align...Josy breaks up with Maya....Maya goes off and works at the Pink Rose. The idea of Maya working for a living would press believability.

"Too early"? It's honestly getting to the point where it's feeling too late. S4's only probably going to have 2 proper episodes, as in episodes where we have choices, minigames, parties, etc, before Eps 15 and 16 are basically just linear and play out the results of the choices we've made along the way through the finale and epilogues.

This is more closer to home than people realise, our next Q&A might paint this in a different way. But at the last one he stated

Long story short, until we are told otherwise (perhaps in the Q&A) we are closer to the endgame than perhaps some realise. Things are going to start getting tied up now. It's no longer too early for anything.

I did think about this as an option and discard it, but ultimately as I thought about it more and we are getting closer to endgame I've started to think about it more.

I've always maintained that the plot needs to go on regardless of retrieval so it's either not important or it is and someone else gets it.

If its not important, happy days our scooby gang finds another way, which they'd have to do anyway if they didn't get it. Paths are aligned plot goes on.

But it could very easily be not getting means you've just written Maya out of the story. Which we all know is a DPC thing to do. Especially given the scoring for success or not begins way back when you meet Patrick, which is again another DPC thing to do.

I'll laugh my head off if the splitting of the throuple, specifically getting Josy over Mays is dependent on this contract or not.

BaDIK is written in such way that MC is not the center of the universe and the story develops beyond his influence, MC can touch only certain moments for now, but I would like to see the butterfly effect closer to Endgame.

We can choose to focus on one girl and carefully set one girl against the other, or always reconcile them and pay equal attention to each other.
I don't know yet how this works outside of their route. Perhaps MC will just be an observer here.

That's quite dark if i'm being honest. I get the part where Helen dies because of her sickness, but Patrick commiting suicide is going on a dark path. It could destroy Maya and Derek's relationship if this happen if i'm being honest.

This comment is based on what some talk about the total length of the game. Honestly, I don't care if it has 14, 16 or 25 episodes, obviously all of us here enjoy the game and want it to last as long as possible, but I think I speak for the majority when I say that the total number of chapters doesn't matter. The most important thing is that it has a well-done and appropriate ending for a great game like this.

Multiple endings and continue what has characterized the game, which is nothing other than good humor, charismatic characters and a great story.

I have never been a big fan of university type games, but this one has managed to hook me to such an extent that I have even donated to Patreon and followed the updates very closely. I have never donated to games that have not been finished (I think most of you already know the reason)

Let's hope we don't have to wait too long to enjoy the end of the game and dream of DPC starting another project as big as this one. And if it doesn't, at least we will have enjoyed one of the best VNs I have had the pleasure of playing.

No I don't disagree with you at all. A 2 episode season that is effectively just epilogues is ludicrous (but let's be honest not beyond DPC esp as you're right he did say season 4 would not be typical)

But let's look at is from both sides, he was originally counting the epilogues in his count, in which case we have even less time than we first thought, in which case it's "ending" at 12, we are definitely in the endgame.

Or, it "ends" at 14 more likely as this gives us 4 more chapters 11 Christmas, 12 valentines, 13 spring break 14 college year ends. Before our episode 15 and 16 epilogue (more likely this one) currently approaching chapter 11 of 14... Well into the last half of the story, a bit into the last third of the story and just entering the last quarter of the story. Again we are sorta in the endgame now.

Which bringing us back to the original point at hand It's by far no means to early to be introducing characters now, it's time for the outcomes of all those set ups in earlier chapters to start coming to fruition

The thing is it's many AVNs choose to ignore the actions have consequences route and prefer to apply the suspend your disbelief porn logic. And while yes you still get your ending and it's somewhat satisfying. The "you caused this with your decisions" either good or bad will ALWAYS trump them.

Now we got that warning at the start so we know it's got the potential to be dark. I've seen people throw out quotes and the likes stating DPC has said it won't go the same route as AL. (I can never really find a direct DPC source, so don't know exactly what was said) now we all know AL was pretty dark, but just because he's said it won't go that route doesn't mean this is going to be all sunshine and rainbows

Thing is, when you think about it, your actions in AL didn't lead to that bad thing happening, it happened regardless. So when people say how our actions as the player could lead to or cause bad endings and they reference AL in that, it's not entirely accurate considering it wasn't the player that did it then either.

This is why I think that, even with things that look like they could be bad, they ultimately won't be in the end and that there will always be a decent outcome even in the event of something bad happening. AL, again, did this because even though one of the friends burned to a crisp, Megan or Melissa come out alright in the end and go on to live a decent life with or without him.

I guess it will all depend on whether DPC remains the same kind of storyteller in this way, that even in the darkest of event outcomes there will still be a good future, or if he changes it up and makes our choices actually contribute to really dark outcomes.

If that's a flashforward, then judging from the number of seats it looks like it could be Bella, MC, Maya, Josy, Sage, Jill, and 2 others, possibly Derek and James or maybe even Derek and Neil with James showing up during the dinner and creating drama.

Simplest explanation for me if that's the case with the dinner guests is they that don't really have anywhere else to go. Bella has no family, Maya and Derek still not on good terms with Patrick, Josy again doesn't want to spend a holiday with Monica, Sage not having or wanting to spend time with her adoptive family, Jill probably has issues with her family by that point too, and MC and Neil get invited because the MC is part of the friend group and it wouldn't be right to leave Neil alone.
