I don't know if DPC does it, but it's common practice with other devs to only show non canon renders in update posts, just so no content of the next update is spoiled.

I'd go into the new update under the belief that all the teasers (except for the April Fools one.... probably) will be canon. His notion of what spoilers are seems to be very different than most others, considering what he's showed.

Not entirely correct. With perfect use of the birth control pill there is a 1% chance that it isn't effective. Seeing how much sex Ari has and how dumb she is, I think it's quite likely that even with real pills she could get pregnant.
