I hope not if something along the lines of a Li being harmed or worse then I probably wouldn't play his games again and I'd imagine I wouldn't be the only one.
I might be on the fence. His ability to emotionally immerse you is top notch for a game. I enjoy all types of entertainment that does that (literature, movies & theater, music, and yes, games), but most of the time I like knowing what I'm getting in to. Yeah, AL was a soul-crushing shock, but I appreciated DPC's skill at making it that way.
Still, I'm hoping, despite Jill's disclaimer at the beginning of BaDIK, that he might back off a bit and give us a more fun (or at least less tragic) ending for this one. If not, I guess I'll accept the notion that these are the types of story twists he'll continue to create, and I'll visit him from time to time when I want that type of interaction. After all, the emotional wringers I suffered playing Bioshock Infinite, the Tomb Raider reboots, and Telltale's The Walking Dead (HOLY FUCK!) didn't stop me from returning to those types of games.
No, I'm not a masochist or sadist. I just enjoy experiencing the human experience. But I want to know what kind of food a restaurant serves before I walk in the door.
